This little flock of geese is always hanging out together at Austin’s #LadyBirdLake. We’ve had so much rain and flooding, though, that the trail where I run, walk, and bike around the lake has been closed. I’m missing my geese and hope they’re enjoying the weather. #geese#ducks#healthyliving#running#Austin
Most of my runs are done in solitude, and I like it that way. It gives me the space to breathe and run and think and pray and gather energy to face the world for the rest of the day. (Also it gives me more opportunity to take photos like this without being too self-conscious 😂)
Such a rare occasion; I got the weights section all to myself! 😜 Today was an upper-body workout followed by a HIIT workout. Fun fact: putting mascara on after an arm workout is tough! 🤣 #motivation#weighttraining#gymrat
Ran in my first half marathon race this weekend!!! I used to HATE running, but this past summer I chose to do something different. Push past the fear, and just do it. I heard a quote during my hot yoga class 2 days prior to the race. For whatever reason, the quote popped into my head around mile 9-10... “Drop fear, just love.” I have no idea why it came back to me right at that very moment, but I just smiled remembering the quote and felt graced with the random coincidence that it would help me push onward. The next 2-3 miles were my fastest ones the whole race. I felt unstoppable, strong, happy, confident, grateful, and at peace. It was such an awesome moment I will never forget. I really never ever thought I would run this kind of race, but I love pushing myself to different limits and always keep my body guessing what I’m going to do next. Full marathon next year... maybe?!
