  • Story by @brodiemoss this one time I was diving with my brother and a big orca swam underneath me, next thing I’m hanging off the back of the boat shitting myself watching one of the most powerful acts of nature 💙 a pod of orcas killed a baby humpback whale and I got to feel it all. #DiscoverOcean #nature #amazing #ocean #australia #life #lifestyle

  • Tensions were high this morning as a local longboarder made the fatal mistake of declining an offer to grab “a bit of purple gold” after a surf with the boys. These days acai bowls and longboarding are synonymous like salt and pepper or Joel Tudor and aggressive opinions, so it was very confusing as to why he would not want one. While slamming down the bowls, the boys said, “He clearly doesn’t get it. You can soul arch all you want, but if you ain’t grabbing some joy juice post surf then you ain’t living. Why don’t you put some more fins on your board, man? Haha! Good luck finding anything to post on your Instagram today.”

  • Regional Australia, our voice is being heard, and the important stuff is being highlighted, finally. . I’m so very grateful to Gen from @womansweekly magazine. We just had a good lengthy chat, and some time in the new year, they’ll be running a feature on the trending topic that is alcohol + Australia, including yours truly (but representing “us” - not me). . This makes me jump for joy. Because it’s so much easier to cover appealing and safe/popular topics that don’t challenge us or our health system. This is the hard stuff, and the necessary stuff. . This is the stuff that helps gently bring real conversation to a national health system that needs to see change around how we discuss and treat the alcohol culture and the complexities, illness, and health costs that lie within. . Side note: This detour to Sydney has cost another $2000 odd of savings in accomodation and flights. We all know the exorbitant costs of regional travel. I hope to highlight these sorts of challenges and the reality that presents for the average tax payer. . Because, currently, the best support for our sick loved ones has price tags like this associated. And we need to do better. What’s so scary is that I would be dead by now if it weren’t for the unwavering support and commitment from my husband, while I got well, and now, while I do this volunteer work. He keeps the show on the road, and it costs us dearly in so many ways. . What happens for working Mums and Dads who can’t have that help? That’s what terrifies me. . But we remain united in how important this work is. One step at a time, this conversation is going further and further. And it saves lives. How can we not continue? . Feeling very thankful indeed. Please get behind this discussion in any way you can. It all helps.
