Positive: I ran 15 miles.
Negative: I missed every single interval for a 3x2 mile interval and settled with an average of 7:30.
Humidity of 93%, you can’t expect to make paces you were in ideal weather. I’m healthy and that beats all negative.
Workouts are just workouts.

Running before having our son and running after is definitely different. As would be expected. 💙
Before I had him I ran whatever I had on my schedule without question, ran through whatever course I felt like that day, didn’t take much along, and could choose whatever time of day I wanted.
After I had him I learned quickly running wouldn’t be on my schedule much anymore, I had to pack for 2 and always make sure I had my phone and lots of snacks, it takes twice as long to get out of the house, and sometimes my schedule has to be adapted.
BUT guess what! I also get this amazing little training partner who sees this world through completely different eyes. Who I get to spend these wonderful moments with that I’ll never get back. And who truly makes our lives so much more wonderful 💙👶🏻
It’s not always easy and my type A personality has had a hard time some days adapting BUT it’s been the most rewarding experience of my life!
Today I wanted 8 miles and we got in 6 because he was done being in the stroller 3 miles in. I wanted to end the week at 50 miles and ended at 48.5 miles instead and I can honestly say I don’t care! I’m more blessed by this time together than any extra miles will get me 🙌💗
I don’t normally run on Fridays. I ended up taking off Wednesday off and so I had toyed with the idea of adding a run in today.
THEN this morning happened. E is still coming down from traveling and after breakfast he just was a crazy mess. He screamed the whole way to the gym and I thought the run probably wouldn’t happen. But then as soon as he got in with his friends he was fine. The daycare ladies said he did great! 🤷🏻♀️
I KNEW I needed to run but I also didn’t want to mess with my weekend running plans. So I just went out and got an easy 5 Miles. I felt wonderful and just what I needed to reset and then get back to being Mom! 💙
Some days are tough but that’s the great thing about running is I know it’s always there!

Happy Saturday! 13 miles on the strand to kick off the weekend! 🏃🏻♀️🎉 Got to run with two of my favorite running buddies this morning which made the miles fly by!👯♀️ Now if I can convince them to run with me every weekend, haha! A few years ago when I started training for marathons I always had someone to run with. They always gave me that extra push and motivation to get out there and made me fall more in love with running ❤️ .
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend! Who else logged miles today?! 👇🏻 #becksliveshealthy // 📷: @zackjwilliams
• 2 WEEKS 🅿🅾🆂🆃-🅲🆁🅰🆂🅷 🆄🅿🅳🅰🆃🅴 🚴🏻♀ •⠀
So many "firsts" this week!⠀
✽ laughing without pain #smallwins⠀
✽ got on the bike trainer for some light cardio 🚲 #trainingforpiedmont⠀
✽ off the heavy meds, which made me foggy and constipated⠀
✽ went out on the town without incident 🎶 #weezer#pixies⠀
✽ wore my own clothes (i.e., wearing a bra and my own top vs. men's XL tees 😜 ➡ pictured here)⠀
A little better, but still challenging:⠀
↣ walking: still slow 👵🏼, and carrying anything is uncomfortable⠀
↣ that 'burning' rib area underneath my armpit: lidocaine patches are my friend⠀
↣ right arm: minimal active range of motion and can’t carry anything more than a drink in my right hand (which is admittedly handy! 🥃)⠀
↣ clavicle: "clicks" when I move around, which is not only disconcerting but often painful⠀
↣ lungs: not at full capacity plus coughs, hiccups, and sneezes are to be avoided at all costs ❌ #ouch⠀
This week not only did the severity of my injuries set in, but also the slow path to recovery that will ensue. Not gonna lie, it bummed me out a bit, but it also reinforced the need to listen to my body and to have compassion for all that it takes to heal. Deep breathing and naps were helpful here.⠀
Lastly, I continue to be awed by the love in this world, from my community, and from @rigopulos , who remains my steadfast helper, guardian, and partner in all things.⠀
With heavy legs and a happy heart, I ran around my city and found new street art 🏃🏻♀️💛 #poetanddidntknowit

“Running is not, as it so often seems, only about what you did in your last race or how many miles you ran last week. It is, in a much more important way, about community, about appreciating all the miles run by other runners too.”
Grateful these women chose to share their morning with @therunnerbeans and I for a scenic run around London.
Give me all the rain 💦 I enjoyed this race and love Chicago & all the views! Went out way too fast & hip flexor gave me issues the second half. My slowest half ever 2:10 but husband stuck to the plan and ran a sun 2 for his first half-he had a great trainer💁🏽♀️🎸🏃🏽♀️🏃🏾♂️💕 (pace on my instastory)
#wetbutglorious#longride today! 38strava 🏆 (no QOMs yet) to show for it, started out sunny and warm with a 45 minute downpour and almost hail interlude - with a finale of sunny and calm again. 2.5 hours of real cycling - feeling solid and pleased with training! Also happy to be dry and warmed up following that hot bath... #ironmantraining
Sunday is a Runday
You can’t really see my cool new cycling shorts (need to get the matching jersey) in this but I didn’t stop on the ride to get any pics. Nice solo ride with minimal drizzle and only one awful driver (and one awkward one).
