  • ◾▶COMMITMENT IS EVERYTHING◀◾ There is a huge difference between being interested in something and being committed to do something. When you are interested, you will only do the bare minimum. You will only do the easy stuff and stop when shit hits the fan. If you only are kinda sorta interested you will stick to the things that feel and are convenient. When you are committed you will stop at NOTHING. If you want something, I mean REALLY WANT something, you have to be committed. You have to stop making excuses and stick to the things you tell yourself you're going to do. You will stay loyal to what you said even when things get real ugly and hard. If you want something really bad you have to accept nothing other than results and you have to make a commitment to yourself. Which one are you?   • Someone once said to me, “you look too happy to be on prep.” And “I heard the more miserable your prep is, the better you do.” .. 🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️🤦🏼‍♀️ .. Here are my thoughts on this: .. 1. It’s this misconception that leads to competing getting a bad rap or new competitors thinking they have to kill themselves with hours of cardio and/or starving themselves. This is also how some uneducated coaches can get away with unhealthy dieting and programming. Being miserable does not equal success. Now I understand that not every moment of prep is glamorous. There’s lack of sleep, days old gym hair, frumpy cardio clothes and lots of sacrifice. But making things unnecessarily “miserable” because you think it’ll end in better outcomes is actually absurd. If you have this mentality, it’s time you take a step back and re evaluate your programming, diet and mindset. Prep should not be “easy” (or everyone would be walking around an IFBB Pro) but it also shouldn’t drain the life out of you. But unfortunately, there’s so many stories of girls doing and eating insane things all thinking that the “harder” it is, the better they’ll look/be. Sometimes it seems like some competitors post things to “glorify” how “miserable” their prep is so people on the outside assume that is the norm. So let’s set the record straight, hard work does not equal misery. In prep you will work hard. You will sweat, probably cry and do harder things than you’ve ever done before. But that level of diet and training is not “miserable” and if it is, you should find a new coach. You want to win? work hard. .. 2. Prep is a CHOICE! As a competitor, you are choosing to do the cardio, the workouts, the meal prep, the posing. If you don’t like it, don’t do it. Simple. .. 3. “Too happy” should never be a thing. There should be no limit to the happiness you feel and express 😊🌻 .. (More in comments)

Thanks @ryanconleypsa 💪🏻 We decided to do a mini cut before dieting down for next year but Amie had her sights set on an earlier show. Being realistic, we knew we’d need some time to diet down for competition leanness — so we’ve been slowly dropping each week! . When in doubt, go slower than you’d like. There are certain circumstances of course where shorter preps are totally fine — one size does not fit all. But in most cases, slower is the better always. 💯 . Proud of Amie’s diligent work both offseason and the start of this prep! Can’t wait to see the final product. 💃🏻 . #LoCoFit #teamlocofit #redefinehealthy

Damn this punched me in the face. Something I’ve struggled with my whole life is being deeply unhappy with myself. Until now I’ve just buried more and more shit on top of these feelings and have worked on particularly challenging things to try and find said happiness. But it never works. . The first step to changing anything is recognizing your bad habits. This could be for anything that is harming you — self destructive behaviors, relationships you’re in, how you treat your body... just to name a few. . While this might be a grim post to start the week #emo4life hah 💀 I encourage everyone to take that uncomfortable look into your life and recognize what bad habits you’re holding onto. No fluffy unicorn 🦄 and rainbow 🌈 catch phrases will suffice for true change.
