I don’t know about y’all but when I think of shoes I think of the journey and the time you spent walking in them or playing a certain sport in them. I could be crazy for even thinking and putting so much emotion into a pair of shoes but in all honesty I didn’t grow up with the luxury of having new shoes every week or even every month. I got a pair of shoes once a year and I was grateful for that. But I’m not going to get into so much detail about my shoe dilemma. The shoes on the left for some reason hit a spot in my heart because those were my first actual basketball shoes made by an NBA player. I am by no means Derrick Rose but I swear to you the first game I wore them I surprised my coach on how I played that night. I simply said “It was the shoes”. But every time I put those shoes on it was a time to get away from the bs and a time to forget about life and only think about basketball. Basketball for a long time was my biggest distraction and a way to get away from my problems for a short period of time. But when I think about my D Rose’s I think about all the time and effort I was putting in. And not to mention how awful these shoes smelled! But that’s not the point. The point is i got a new pair of shoes because it’s time to let go of the past and begin something new. The red shoes were worn by a highschool basketball player. The Kyrie’s to be worn by a basketball coach. Times have changed but you don’t forget the meaning and the story and the dedication you once had is still present. #ILoveBasketball#DRose#kyrieirving
