You want real? Raw? Unedited? Here it is... this is my life prior to lead the home. This is my life prior to Jesus Christ. Every man must ask him self these questions... who am I? What are my intentions, am I good enough? My answers were broken, selfish, and no. It’s a real slap in the face to realize that despite being your wife’s husband, protector, lover... your best action in life is to lead her to trust in Jesus and not in yourself. To learn of your own evil, to really discover it, expose it, and die to it.... it is humbling. -When God slaps you in the face with the reality that you spent an hour trying to get your wife to make love to you, but not one second trying to lead her to Christ during your 24 hour day.... -when you accept that regardless of how much you say you love your family, that if you were to act out of your own selfish desires each and every day, you would do nothing but destroy them... -when you realize that unless you die to yourself you will never be good enough for them... Only then are you humbled enough to see your evil, to know your failure. And from there... face down on the ground broken... what amazing grace can be found!!!! Through your own brokenness you can see the brokenness of others. Now rather than looking down on others for their failures... you are living in grace, humility, and love as you accept and love them for who they are, for who they are as Christ sees them.
If your marriage is broken... don’t give up on your marriage... try giving up on yourself. It’s okay to not be good enough. Not being good enough exposes your greatest need... that being Jesus Christ. God designed us in his image... the image of love. He designed us for relationship. Marriage is the most intimate relationship we can experience. Unfortunately sin contradicts god, and therefore will contradict relationships. The devil would have us all focused on self. Selfies, iPhones, technology, fear of expression, depression.... what ever can be done to lock us in our own prison... shame, fear, doubt, distraction.... the devil wants us to live here... because when we are focused on ourselves we are bad at relationships. #love#jesus#leadthehome#husband
