  • When you have 2 runners in the family sometimes it makes things a bit tricky, BUT it’s also so much fun! 🙌 Wes is 10ish weeks away from his big race in Chicago. That means that his training is picking up and with the summer temps he needs more help to get it done. 🏆 Today’s goal workout for him: 21 miles @ 97% of goal marathon pace 🤞 I knew in order to help him and get my long run in I’d need to get creative! So, I got up at 5:45 am and put hubby on morning baby duty 👶🏻. 1️⃣ Run #1: 7 mile progression on the treadmill (9:15-7:25) 2️⃣ Run #2: 6 miles with the stroller while also handing off water to Wes. TOTAL SATURDAY MILEAGE - 13 🎉 It’s not always perfect and sometimes we have to tag team to make it all work but I truly wouldn’t have it any other way! 💗

  • BOSTON🦄 This is the first time I wore this crop. Honestly after I realized i wasn’t running, I wanted to return it. I didn’t think I deserved to wear it. I didn’t make it to the race, the start or the finish. I knew I was being smart but I don’t like to give up especially on my dreams. It wasn’t giving up which I realize now, but it’s hard to walk away from something you worked years for in the moment, even if it is only delayed a year. But today I woke up and wanted to match my socks with my top so I pulled it out of the bottom of my drawer and wore it with pride. It has taken me a while to get used to running in crops, I would say I am a person that fakes confidence 🤣 but now I love them! I don’t care if I have gained weight and am not in shape from being injured for 3-4 months, I am proud of my body and especially as it surprises me when I return to running.   • My 4️⃣ step system for healthy success👇🏻: . . 1️⃣ Surround yourself with others who are already achieving their goals⚡️. There’s a saying that you’re the sum of the 5 people you surround yourself with most and i promise you it’s true. Level up who you spend your time with to level up your results🚀. That doesn’t mean you need to abandon great friends who aren’t interested in the changes you want to make, BUT it does mean you need to get yourself accountable by adding in some new fun fittie-friends who are passionate about living a healthier lifestyle and challenging each other to do better {and by better i mean by stepping into doing what YOU DAMN WELL KNOW you should be doing but you simply aren’t....’YET’ {👈🏼 see. I know you so well i even know what you think.} . 2️⃣ VISUALIZE your goal💭. It’s pretty damn hard to reach a finish line when you dont know where it is. So first thing you need to do is SEE & FEEL the ‘out-come’/best version of you. What do you look/feel like? How does this version of you speak to YOU? What are her daily habits? How does she start and end each day? . . 3️⃣ THEN, make a roadmap to success! Similar to step deux it’s pretty damn hard to know whatchu gotta do every day when you haven’t charted out the course. So enlist yourself in a program/challenge/MY BOOTCAMP/& know your scheduled workouts and ‘schedule’ those bad boys into your day & into your planner just like you would any IMPORTANT meeting or date night. And lemme give you a solid tip. GET UP EARLIER TO GET IT IN⚡️. If you’re joining me for our 8 week challenge it’s ONLY 32 workouts over 8 weeks! That’s JUST 4 workouts a week for about 30 minutes. TOTALLY DO-ABLE. I guarantee by evening you’ll likely have way more excuses why you ‘cant’ fit it in then if you just get up and do it. And even better, the endorphins that exercise gives you WILL enhance your mood and quality of life. {reason alone to get er’done at ‘HELL NO’ a.m.. HELL YESS!} . 4️⃣ and lastly {you knew this was coming} EAT PRETTY🥥! And what i mean is 🍓EAT COLORFUL 🌈+ EAT MORE PLANTS 🌱. . . Hope these tips help! Once again I completely forgot to get pictures...oh well, next time I guess! Apologies if I couldn't tag you, IG wouldn't let me add anymore 😅 My first qualification round went awesome - it was the first time in a while that I had shot a full 72 arrows and felt in control and confident of my shots. 2nd round didn't go as well, as I got a little too comfortable on the line when I should have focused harder. I won my first elimination match 6-0, and then got out in the 1/16ths to @livperrego_archery who was doing awesome :) Team rounds was fun as always - @katandarrow and @nicoleweber_archer were shooting awesome, and we came back from being 0-4 to force a shootoff...which we unfortunately lost by one point. All in all it was a reminder that I need to practice harder if I want to improve. I'm super excited to get back on the course and start training for Italy!

  • Lately I’ve realized how the whole you can’t pour from a empty cup saying is ridiculously true. I’ve been working on myself mentally, spiritually and physically and I’m able to give so much more. It’s almost impossible to make others happy if you’re not happy with yourself. You can’t fully love someone until you love yourself I believe now. These babies are my whole world. The best workouts are based on higher intensity at shorter intervals. 20 minutes of higher resistance elliptical training is better than an hour at low or moderate speed. Sprinting & power walking build better endurance than slow paced walking or long term running (running long term increases injury in both knees & ankles, spoken from a person who learned the hard way). Find what you love, & what works for you, optimize it so you can get it done quickly & effectively, & you will still have time to live & enjoy other parts of your life! We are named the 2muchfuncrew. We are training for a race this September for first responders. I used to be soooo intimated to work out with these amazing people. I joined the team in 2014 but never was really into it how I am now. In 2018, I try to make every training. Made friendships that I could never imagine. I am also the youngest on the team at 25 years old. Next time you are feeling the blues about your training, try focusing on what is in your control and a skill you can focus on. This often called growth mindset. We may not all be as naturally gifted as Usain Bolt but even the man himself has to work on his mindset! So believe in yourself and look at your setbacks as challenges rather than failures 🙌 You’ve got this 💪
