Okay so, I found some photos of my tummy 2/2.5 years back and I can’t believe the difference. I knew I had made major progress... but I didn’t really realise just how much. There is no rush to your fitness journey.You can take breaks, have bad foods, and enjoy life. I love having a balance and healthy lifestyle, I do it for myself. It’s not a race, it’s a journey. (ps: soz about the pj’s in the first picture lmao).
Bodyweight Box Squat - progressions
We all start someplace on our fitness journey.
This video looks a progressions you can do for bodyweight box squats.
As you become stronger and more mobile in the hips, lower the height of the box. From the video you will see, from left to right, the depth changes. The goal is to progress to the lowest depth before removing the box and performing a bodyweight squat.
Box squats are great for monitoring depth, if you touch the seat each time you have gone low enough. They also increase your confidence if starting exercise as you have something to sit on.

PILATES FOR CORE STRENGTH
Having core strength is one of the most important things - we need it to support our upper body (preventing back pain) and to improve balance and stability for the lower body.
I work with Imogen every week to improve her core strength amongst other things and using props really help assist the client and provide them with some comfort and confidence during strengthening techniques. By using the small soft ball, Imogen has shown so much progression which is so rewarding for both of us and makes me so proud 🤗

2015 December vs 2017 May. Weighing more looking fitter and leaner and toned. Skinny vs Fit, I choose FIT & tighter every time. What’s more it is far more sustainable lifestyle where food is my friend 🤝 and no more ridiculous hours of cardio and eating very little. Training with weights is far more fun and adds far more shape amongst various health benefits - being stronger and eating more without blowing out like a balloon after a weekend. “Skinny Fat” or lean and stronger? Lean and stronger physically, mentally every time and lessons learnt in how to maintain a fit and sustainable lifestyle is what I choose. NOT - DIET DIET RESTRICT RESTRICT only to end up where I started every time. Many will look at the photo and say they’d be happy with that - but the first photo is restrictive eating. Putting a real strain on the willpower battery - bound to fall apart at some stage.
