👍Les aliments riches en calories comme les noix et les fruits secs peuvent constituer un moyen pratique de grignoter lorsque vous êtes en déplacement, mais, selon mon expérience, ils peuvent être faciles à trop en manger. Ils ne contiennent pas non plus autant de protéines que l’on pense. Le paquet contient des amandes, des noix de macadamian, des noix du Brésil et des fruits secs (bien que cela soit difficile à voir sur la photo).   • If you exercise lots, you need to fuel yourself well. I’ve very much focused this year on more cooking, eating healthier and also fuelling my body well for exercise. The latter, I have been quite poor at previously and often wondered why some of my runs were so lethargic. Since changing my diet and paying more attention to it, my exercise and energy levels have changed so much. For the better. I used to be scared of food in fear of putting weight on. I probably had some food issues without realising. I now eat well, as balanced as I can but also enjoy life and food ☺️ Tomato chicken and veggies wholewheat pasta dish tonight. So easy. So quick and can make in bulk so can be used for lunch tomorrow or another dinner. I love playing around with flavours so always ensure I add herbs or spices to many things I cook. Tonight, I was about the herbs and garlic 👌🏻 I basically cooked the following ingredients in one pot on the hob. I left the chickpeas, basil, spinach and salami to the very end to add in. Cooking time was about 25-30 minutes on a low heat, simmering. Quantities can be whatever you want depending on how many people you’re cooking for and the flavours you like. This is very much a ‘throw’ it in a pot dish with whatever ingredients you have in the fridge. I cooked everything in olive oil with avocado oil. ➡️ Chicken breasts diced ➡️ Small amount of salami ➡️ 1 x Onion ➡️ Button mushrooms sliced in halves ➡️ 1 x chopped courgette ➡️ 2 garlic cloves finely chopped ➡️ 2 x tins of chopped tomatoes (I used one with mixed herbs in it) ➡️ Spinach ➡️ Chickpeas ➡️ Handful of fresh basil chopped ➡️ 2 x tsps of oregano ➡️ Salt and pepper for flavouring ➡️ Drizzle with a little red wine 🍷 Served with wholewheat penne pasta (Or rice, quinoa etc.) and of course, I added what I always do....a bowl of greens 👌🏻 Broccoli and asparagus. I also sprinkled a little parmesan and some pine nuts upon serving. Cooking doesn’t have to take hours and food can be full of flavours 😊 #eatwell #cookfresh #fuelyourbody #runandeatwell #healthyeating #runnersofinstagram #chicken #protein #veggies #greens #wholewheatpasta #simplecooking #flavours

  • Weekend breakfasts are my favorite meal of the week. On school mornings, I take my superfoods with me on my drive to school (and it’s the perfect way to start my day). But, weekends, where we have more time, I love having eggs. Today, I tossed in some diced avocado, cheese and my favorite #traderjoes “Everything but the Bagel” seasoning, and served it up on toast. . It’s keeping me fueled for a long weekend basketball tourney. And I’ll have my shake as dessert when we get home tonight! 👌🏼

It's Monday, and I'm ready to consciously and proactively work toward a fresh start. This past week has been severely lopsided between the frequent changing of plans, illness, excessive amount of work both online and in the swimming pool, and the general inconsistencies with my headspace. I need to clean, organise, grocery shop, post pending items, have film developed, swim a shift, and then continue on. Given the election is coming up I have one prominent focus this week and that's a political blog piece and the first of the [BIG issue] posts to hit my website. At very least, the weather today has gifted me with sunshine to bring a smile when I feel my own fading.

  • Tahini Roasted Cauliflower ✨ I was going to title it: shit week but decided not to. Roasted cauliflower is more fun. Anyone else? ✨ Sick, blocked shoulder, yelled at yesterday in public with my son. Ugh mercury go away! Ok, so about the cauliflower I think I would do it slightly different but that nutty crust was delicious! Next time I will make double the dressing and tip it upside down so it goes INSIDE as well. Just a basic tahini, garlic, lemony dressing rubbed & basted all over then baked for 45 min at 170 c. I just love the whole baked cauli but to get the flavour everywhere is the trick. Will try to nail it this week. Roll on Monday ✨

  • MEAL PREP SUNDAY😄 I haven't posted about meal prep in quite a while, but I still do it EVERY Sunday. I work from home, so I usually don't do anything crazy for myself, but I do make Lyle's meals for him (best gf ever😉). Really though, I love to cook, so I'm always the one that offers and tells him I don't need help when he asks😂 anyone else feel like cooking is a form of therapy for you?! ANYWAYS, back to the point of this post: out meals for this week! For me: 2.25 lbs of 80/20 ground beef. I make salads (that I'm sure most of you have seen on previous posts or stories) basically every day for lunch. I am obsessed with my current combo and it hasn't changed in like a month.. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, right?🤷🏼 I do always leave one lunch a week open cause Lyle has one short day each week that we use to go to chipotle or the sandwich shop downstairs, whose salads are bomb for me and the sandwiches are perfect for Lyle! For Lyle: a combination of roasted sweet potatoes, Brussels sprouts, onions and chicken. This guy, on the other hand, cannot stand having the same meal multiple weeks in a row. He NEEDS variety in his food or he will get sick of it and won't be able to eat it again for quite a while. Not only do we change his meals up each week, but he is also the type of person that needs LOTS (and I seriously mean a lot) of food to fuel his body because his metabolism is insane.. Lucky duck🙄 It gets tricky finding good combinations at times that give him the proper amount of calories, but I'm all about being creative with food and just making things up as I go👍🏻 sometimes it's as simple as ground beef, broccoli and rice, and other times we do unstuffed cabbage rolls, stir fry, or something like this! What are your go-to meal prep ideas?! 🍠🍎🍴

  • Sunday startin’ off well with a breakfast date at my boyfriend and I’s favorite place in SB🤗 Tried this belgian waffle today for the first time and it was so tasty but I still ended up stealing some of Josh’s french toast cause it’s too good🙈 I haven’t “worked out” in days and I’ve gotten dessert and eaten out plenty of times recently but that’s totally okay because I genuinely don’t have time to go work out consistently anymore and that’s something I’ve accepted because in the time I do have, I have been spending it living my life with freedom and enjoying every second of it instead of restricting or missing out on opportunities to spend time with people I love. My friends and I are having friendsgiving tonight and you bet I’ll be eating alllll the desserts and mashed potatoes and I’m so so excited🤤 Happy Sunday friends, enjoy it❣️❣️

  • Stuffing/Dressing 🦃 Ingredients: 3 tbsp. butter ½ cup green onion, chopped ½ cup celery, chopped or thinly sliced 2 ½ cups cauliflower, chopped 1 cup chopped mushrooms ½ teaspoon kosher salt ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/4 cup freshly chopped parsley 2 tbsp. chopped fresh rosemary 1 tbsp. chopped fresh sage ½ cup vegetable or chicken broth Directions: Melt butter (with olive oil, If you choose). Add onions, celery, mushrooms, until tender. Then sauté the Cauliflower adding salt and pepper until tender. Add remaining spices. Folding in until mixed. Then add half cup broth, cover for 15 minutes and serve! Does this sound familiar?⁣ 💥 I don’t have time to make healthy food!⁣ 💥 I don’t have time to read!⁣ 💥I don’t have time to exercise!⁣ 💥I don’t have time to help myself, let alone others! ⁣ 💥I don’t have time to work a 2nd or 3rd job! ⁣ ⁣ What you’re really saying is, “It’s not a priority.” 😕⁣ ⁣ You see, saying “I don’t have time!” is like the grown up version of “The dog ate my homework!” It’s just an excuse that not many tend to question you on because, well, they’re probably making the same excuse. ⁣ Guess what, I do it all the time 😳 no pun intended 😂🤦‍♀️ And while my time is extremely limited, I do have free time. What I choose to fill that free time with is 100% my choice. I can choose to lay on the couch and then say I don’t have time to run my business. I can choose to stay up late drinking and then say I don’t have time to make healthy food. Or, I can CHOOSE to utilize my time in an efficient and healthy manor so that I can reach my goals. ⁣ This week, I chose to cut out music on my way to work. Why? So I could take advantage of TWO HOURS (that’s a lot of friking extra time in my world), to focus on my personal development and listen to my favorite new book on audio.
