  • #Repost @heathergibson2 with @get_repost ・・・ Mental fitness is like going to the gym, but it’s not the same as going to the gym. Mental health and wellness is an investment from you and the best results will mean extra time out of each and every day. I am a fitness advocate and passionate about the incredible sense of personal ownership and great vibes that being fit provides; during my training, mindset is my focus and my internal voice to do better than the last rep/sesh. But the reality is that this alone is not enough to give me sustainable mental health. I make extra effort to take time alone; to be still with my thoughts; to practise limitless mantras constantly in order to keep my mind well and elevated against self-sabotage, anxiety and any thought of darkness. Over time this investment has delivered; when I feel like cobwebs are creeping back, my mind works for me to instantly reframe and make a positive choice to recognise the love and gratitude in my life, to understand that my vision is solid and safe. This is resilience and, like fitness, it is the gift that keeps on giving. I understand that the gym and alone time in fitness might feel like all you can squeeze from your schedule; the level up here is that this 💯 needs to be expanded to include both mental and physical fitness. Separate investment in mental health helps you to overcome issues and sets your path towards alignment, which is more complex than a resolution in a gym or training sesh. Give yourself permission to make this time as often as you can; it’s like fitness training, preventing and shaping your mind muscle to be the strongest version of you yet. Beautiful mother nature 💚🍃🌿🌴🌳 . And we destroy everything. The time is now. Doing my best every single, with the simplest gestures, to reduce my impact on that beautiful earth.
