Hey Portland, you were fun for about 48 minutes. Long enough for me to admire some cool murals, eat some yummy Thai food from a food cart, and get a box of vegan donuts from @voodoodoughnutportland. But I’m a mountain girl. So I found a park and enjoyed some peace and quiet.
And now, I’m off to pick up bad ass @iron__pony , who’s running her first 100 miler this weekend. I’ll have the honor of being her crew person this weekend. Can’t wait to see that buckle!! 🎉🏃🏼♀️🎉
Darker mornings and temperatures dropping means longer sleeves and headlamps, but also quieter mornings and less traffic. Today’s shoe test was the @brooksrunning Glycerin 16, headlamp is the new @biolite 320, currently up on Kickstarter.
As I prepare myself to get back to my passion of running, I think back to my last long run. That day I planned to only run 6 miles but was feeling so great after the 3rd mile, I just kept going. I ended up doing 10 miles that day and was superbly thrilled. Who would have thought that just three days later I would be in a car wreck that would total my car and derail my life for a bit. Since then, I've not been as diligent about my fitness or running for that matter and have gained over 30lbs. However, the time has come and my time is now. Of course, I don't plan to run a 10 miler tomorrow but know it's coming. One step at a time. #tbt
