  • 1:34:40! Second fastest time! . I’m pretty okay with this. The weather was all over the place. I prayed for it to rain when it got humid. I knew a PR was out of the question at mile 3-4. So I adjusted and moved on. . The difference is that I wanted it, but I didn’t need it. And for that reason, I can move on quickly. It’s time to work, and I’m freaking pumped for this next round of training. . Cheers fam 🔥♥️

  • Running before having our son and running after is definitely different. As would be expected. 💙 Before I had him I ran whatever I had on my schedule without question, ran through whatever course I felt like that day, didn’t take much along, and could choose whatever time of day I wanted. After I had him I learned quickly running wouldn’t be on my schedule much anymore, I had to pack for 2 and always make sure I had my phone and lots of snacks, it takes twice as long to get out of the house, and sometimes my schedule has to be adapted. BUT guess what! I also get this amazing little training partner who sees this world through completely different eyes. Who I get to spend these wonderful moments with that I’ll never get back. And who truly makes our lives so much more wonderful 💙👶🏻 It’s not always easy and my type A personality has had a hard time some days adapting BUT it’s been the most rewarding experience of my life! Today I wanted 8 miles and we got in 6 because he was done being in the stroller 3 miles in. I wanted to end the week at 50 miles and ended at 48.5 miles instead and I can honestly say I don’t care! I’m more blessed by this time together than any extra miles will get me 🙌💗

  • Progress is never linear // Writing my last blog post brought up all the memories of my marathon journey. I’ve ran 7 marathons, each one with a story... each one with a lesson... and not every one included achieving a PR, or my “A” goal. Marathon 1 | 4:04 Marathon 2 | 4:48 Marathon 3 | 3:53 Marathon 4 | 4:06 Marathon 5 | 3:43 Marathon 6 | 3:40 Marathon 7 | 3:35 Out of everything becoming a marathoner has taught me, patience and resilience are the two things I hold onto most. I’ve been slowly chipping away towards a big goal I’ve wanted for a really long time. Some of those race days I’ve gotten closer, and I’ve been heartbroken in the same breath because of it not being close enough. And that’s when the patience and resilience settles in. You think back to the meaning behind achieving that goal and align that with your current journey. So stay in your lane & look ahead - the dream is still waiting for you and there for the taking. 🔥

  • Hey @sarahwkirke! Am I wearing these @oiselle spandos right?! 2mi time trial today ☠️ 1 up, 2mi fast, 1 down (908, 658, 705, 906). These are the kinds of things that really scare me, but I’m trying to work on that. I know that this is just a gage of where I am right now and that’s it. It’s not more complicated than that. So I went into it surprisingly calm and even a little excited. Once I was running fast and holding on for dear life, I did start to panic a bit but told myself it was less than 15 mins of pain and that’s nothing! Happy #sundayrunday friends! #timetrial #marathontraining #oiselle #flystyle

  • Breakthrough run this morning! Not because of pace or time, but because I ran 9 miles with an average heart rate of 150! Anyone who has tried to run off of hr knows that it is perhaps way more challenging than pace. It teaches you to slow down, which can be really hard. I’m teaching my body that it needs to do this to ultimately speed up. This can be so mentally hard though, but I’m trusting the process that @run4prs is teaching me. 🙃********** I talk mad sh*t about my treadmill, but there were a lot of pros today! First, I was able to run indoors, which is way cooler than the 95 degrees that it is outside right now 😱. Second, I was able to watch one of my favorite shows, Outlander. Definitely can’t do that outside. Third, I didn’t have to carry my water and nutrition on me 😎. I bought my treadmill right after I had Grey so that I could train while he slept. In 2015, I trained for 6 marathons in 6 months in 6 different states either on my treadmill, pushing a stroller, or on lunch runs at work. My husband was gone for 6 months, so that was my only option. Therefore, in an effort to mend my complex relationship with my treadmill, I will always think about these positive attributes and be thankful for her 😜 #tredmilllove #positivevibesonly💯 #8020rule #slowdowntospeedup #trusttheprocess #run4prsathlete #nikezoomfly #garmin935 #sole80fitness #treadmillworkout #igrunners #celiacrunner

  • Ran with this group in 2:39 thanks to their awesome spirit & amazing CES pacers! I love how running brings strangers together! I fell behind and the gentleman in the picture came and got me so I could rejoin! The pace was a little faster than I was supposed to go (was supposed to go 12:30, not 12:12 😂) but I was mostly even right until the last mile where I slowed down a touch, BUT this definitely builds my confidence that a 12:30 finish (and finish PERIOD) for the marathon may not be totally outside the realm of possibilities. Still have a LOT of work to do for the next 11 weeks though!! - Shout out to @kahumai617 for finding me after I forgot to text you 😔, you did awesome today and I hope you dry out after that car SOAKED us!!💦💦 - @danypooh80 we got this! 11 more weeks! I hope you heal up and rest up 👊🏾👊🏾

  • Sunday Runday! • • I’m back! And Houston wasted no time reminding me what Houston summers are about. My hubs and I joke that there is a 30 minute sweet period in Houston each morning where the humidity has burned off and the temperature is still decent. That didn’t happen today 😂 • • This run was rough. I felt every ounce of every beer (and a few mixed drinks. With tequila floaters...) that I drank while on vacation. But I was still proud of my run. Never before in my life would I have been able to come back from a vacation and just go run 6 miles. It made me confident in the level of fitness I have achieved. And excited for what lays ahead! • • Now hopefully going to relax the rest of the day and mentally prepare for a new week ❤️

  • Ran 8.02K in a forest just outside the city. It was +25 degrees Celsius when I started. My bad hip ached a bit, and the slow pace between 2.5.km and 3.5 km was me taking photos of cycle paths. But the slow pace after that up til 8K is not explainable more than; I could just pull that together. The forest was swamped with flies, mosquitos and something bigger that sounded when I crushed one between my fingers. But I am VERY content and satisifed with the run, despite several kilometers with slow pace. And it is a lot of uphill and downhill there, and for almost one K am I running on a narrow cycle path. Cycled to the trail system, a bit over 5.23K, and back over 6.3K. #runningwoman #runnersworld #trailrunning #IRun #igrunners #instarunners #cyclingwoman #cykla #cykling #sykle #sykling #cycling

  • I woke up tired from yesterday’s race, but not as sore as I thought I would be. I had a recovery run planned for today, so we found a nice little trail pretty close to our hotel. . 6.1 miles in 56:00. . I now have just 7 weeks until the Holland Haven Marathon and I’m getting pretty nervous. I felt super strong during the run yesterday, so I’m feeling pretty confident in my fitness, but I know I still have some work to do!

  • First 10 mile run in over a year! ✅😁 This week ended up being WAY more of a cutback week than I had planned (only 2 runs!! 😱), but I took a chill pill so I’m ok. 😜😂 (Um, for clarification, I didn’t actually take any pills or anything 😆- this is me trying to be funny. 😂) But seriously, life happens, 🤷🏻‍♀️ and I’m learning that a positive chill attitude can make ALL the difference. ✌🏼😊 Next week I’ll be back on track! And in 6 days the hubby and I are going on vacation BY OURSELVES. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼😍 Somebody pinch me! ☺️ #longrunsunday #rungirl #iloverunning #summerrunning #runnerscommunity #igrunners #runnermom #runtheday #runhappy #runoften #runfree

  • Good afternoon everyone! Despite the grey skies, chillier conditions & constant rainfall, I had a fun time joining our Run Club for part of their long run. Today’s 10K route weaved through part of the Triathalon event that was happening by our waterfront. It was really cool seeing the multitude of people running, swimming & cycling! With my background as a competitive swimmer, the idea of becoming a triathlete has always been in the back of my mind. For the time being, however, I’m going to continue to focus on my love of running! Highlight of my run: Seeing my @RunTOBeer friends @mjcbray & @girlontheroadlesstravelled absolutely killing it during their triathlon! (I’m pretty sure it was Michael....I just saw a bolt of lightning fly by me with a big smile...so I assumed it was him! He’s still easily one of the fast runners I’ve seen IRL!) It was so good to see their smiling faces as they rocketed past me on the Martin Goodman Trail! Congrats Michael & Jana, I hope you both crushed it!! 👏🏻🍺 Time to have a massive breakie and enjoy a chill & relaxing afternoon! Have a wonderful Sunday! #shaneruns #noexcuses #ciele #everybodyrun #cieleathletics #runclub #sundayrunday #sunday #mizuno #wavesky2

  • I finished a half marathon in my socks.....🧐🧐 • #downtowupflow half marathon ✅ Stuck to the pacing plan ❌ • Today’s race was my first point to point race which I was really looking forward to! We started in Windsor and finished in Marlow, where we parked and got the organised bus to the start line. • The plan today was to practise keeping a steady pace, but I royally screwed that up early doors by going out too fast. 🙈 from mile 5 till the end, I met another runner called Andy, who helped me along the way, and being from around the area, was basically my running tour guide! • The downfall for me came at mile 10. From then on, the course was all on grass fields 😟. I only ever wear my #vibramfivefingers when off road, so running with road shoes on felt like having 10kg weights on each leg 😩. Mile 11 also included HELLA stairs to get to an overpass. With a mile to go, I decided to take my shoes off and just run in my socks. I immediately felt much better (apart from the odd stone) and managed to throw my shoes away before the finish line photo! • I wouldn’t say this race is ideal for PB’s due to the gates, dogs and cyclical on route. But, it’s a fun one to do in the future! • 🏃🏻‍♂️ 13.1 miles 📍 Windsor - Marlow ⏰ 1:43:17 ⏱ 7:53/mi

  • Easy Sunday morning miles ✅ actually, not so easy 😅 goal was 7...got in 6. Little sleep and frickin hot at 6am made for a sluggish tough run. Yet, felt SO good to be back on the pavement on my long run route. Saw all my animal friends along the way ❤️ base building miles continues until September. If I hope to reach my goal to shave off time it’s gonna take daily effort and work. I’m all in! But right now it’s time for a huge a$$ breakfast! • Seven Sunday Miles! 7!!! Count ‘em!!! 🤘🏻 I’m in shock.... ALSO a bit broken!!! 😂🏃‍♀️ . . Sometimes I wonder why I do it to myself...? Each run isn’t a breeze. Different merits. Different plus points and often a few minus’! I LOVE running. I NEED running. But sometimes runs JUST. AREN’T. FUN! This one most definitely wasn’t! . . Firstly it was really warm. Secondly I chose a route that was predominantly uphill/on an incline. And thirdly, I’m just soooooo tired just now. 😴 . . Plus points. It was sunny, so lovely light IN MY EYES. Wee breeze, so not tooo hot in parts. I had peace and quiet for that hour and 25 mins. I see a huge improvement all in all. . . My first 10K I ran I did it in an hour and 23 mins. So I’ve added a whole mile onto that, with only a 2 min extra! That’s good I think?? . . So, aye.... it’s DONE. I’m a bit DONE too... but it’s the BIGGER PICTURE! Can I do this @scottishhalfmarathon half?? Can I?? This is what I want to prove to myself. And I’m going to do my VERY BLINKIN’ BEST to see if I can! ☀️🤞🏻💛 . . #bluebellebombshell #scottishhalfmarathontraining #ineedtoproveittomyself #somerunsjustarentfun
