The guy on the left used to struggle to run 1km around the block😵💨, when he was at his heaviest he weighed over 102kgs!!(225 pounds)😱. . . ⠀ The guy on the right weighs a little less at around 74kgs (163pounds) and runs 100 plus km(75mile) mountain Ultras🏔🏃🏻‍♂️🤘🏻 . . . ⠀ The difference between the two actually isn’t the weight loss, diet🥑🍐🍎🍊🍓🥝 or exercise💪🏻🏃🏻‍♂️. The real change happened in my heart❤️. . .   • Running for maintenance and the simple L O V E of it and embracing the day (vs running due to official training and following an official plan) is such a nice break from the “pressure” of trying to hit paces, monitoring heart rate, getting in a certain number of miles, etc. when “training”. Until it’s time for me to officially start training again (for Boston), I’ve been simply going out and having fun with my runs, sometimes with friends, sometimes helping some of my runners on THEIR runs, and sometimes running solo, as was the case today. Today, after a rough week, and not enough sleep last night, I truly struggled (for about an hour 🙄) with the thought of lacing up and getting out the door, vs staying in bed! I know many of you can relate! That said, as much as I know I did not “HAVE” to get out and run because I’m not #training for anything, the one thought that always gets me out is this: “THERE WILL COME A DAY YOU CAN NO LONGER DO THIS....TODAY IS NOT THAT DAY”! May we all recognize and embrace the gift of each day. I say it all the time.....every day is a gift ❣️ ~ ~ ~ 10 prayerful solo reflecting miles for breakfast, not looking at watch for pace or HR at all (other than when the lap split would beep and show me the pace I had just ran for that mile).   • Foggy morning run 🏃🏻‍♀️ with wild turkeys 🦃 . Actually it was pitch dark when I headed out- in order to be back for breakfast and shower before the 9am meditation. I haven’t run with a flashlight (and reflective vest and flashing bike light) in a very long time. But I’m here to work, not to run - so you gotta do what you gotta do 😆 . I stuck to paved road but after while when only surrounded by redwoods it suddenly occurred to me: „Wait- we are in cougar country!“ 🐱 😲😬 I made my way back to a less isolated area. Если вы вдруг окажетесь где то в центре рядом с трассой, поддержите ребят. Вы просто не представляете насколько это важно, а иногда простое «ты - молодец!» помогает магическим образом воспрянуть духом.   • Urlop to niekoniecznie leżenie na plaży z drinkiem, urlop może być też wyjątkowo aktywny, takie wypoczywanie lubię najbardziej 😊 Dzień pierwszy: ➡ OWB1 11,5 km Regle ➡ sala 1:15 h Dzień drugi: ➡ rano OWB1 4 km + 4 x 1 km (4:06, 4:05, 4:13*, 4:03) + 3 km tr. ➡ beczka z wodą i lodem 10 minut ➡ po południu OWB1 10 km Regle ➡ wieczorem sala 1:15 h Ad. * - pierwotnie powtórzeń miało być więcej, ale szereg czynników zdecydował, że na trzecim, dokładnie na ostatniej prostej, stwierdziłam "nie biegam" i wyłączyłam zegarek. Trener jednak skutecznie zmotywował do jeszcze jednego tysiąca, za co dziekuję ;). Ten szereg czynników to taki, że od dwóch lat tysiące biegam praktycznie tylko przed zawodami (i to też nie każdymi) jako przetarcie, a najbliższe dopiero za 4-5 tygodni ;), w dodatku tempa jak na mnie było ostatnio sporo (tysiące i zawody); to początek obozu i nie chciałam zajechać nóg już na starcie; i chyba najważniejsze o czym dziś sobie przypomniałam - nie potrafię biegać z kimś, kto narzuca tempo, a dziś z Karolą miałyśmy zmieniać się na prowadzeniu. Tracę wtedy luz i przyjemność z treningu, pojawia się presja i dekoncentracja a wysiłek odczuwam jako większy, trening nie wychodzi i pojawia się demotywacja.... Pewnie fajnie byłoby się nauczyć tak biegać, bo zaprocentowałoby to na zawodach, ale też nie chcę robić tego za wszelką cenę. Bieganie to frajda i musi porywać serce i duszę, a nie być tylko rzemiosłem bez przyjemności.. Trochę się rozpisałam. A Wy wolicie mocne treningi na dużym dyskomforcie biegać sami, czy z kimś? Odczuwacie wtedy presję? Jak sobie z nią radzicie?   • One more sleep before I tackle my first marathon since #comrades2018 . I've been a bit out of tune with long distances since and the thought of actually running 42.2km has become a daunting again. I even dreampt about the marathon during my afternoon nap, that hasnt happened since like forever ago! . All this is very exciting cos I feel like I'm lining up for my first marathon again. . . Gonna be so awesome, early morning, coffee, nervously try to poop one last time before i leave, vloek and skel as I try to park, greet all the ouks walking to the start, pre-race #carbswp photo, photobomb selfie takers at the start line, laugh at ouks starting way to fast, talk loads of crap to anyone with ears for the first 20, stop talking at 35, vloek en skel till the end. . . So what I'm trying to say is Marathons are freaking awesome!   • My runner/PT/sports at all people.... . I need a little “ass”-istance 😂😂 My butt is really hurting when I run ( and sit and move in general) but especially when I run. . . Honestly it feels like the muscles that attach my butt and hamstrings are locked and not moving correctly so that the actual, physical act of running feels impossible . It’s so hard to do that I get tired from the effort and then have to take frequent walk breaks. 🙄 . I know one might say it’s overuse but I haven’t been overdoing it. I really haven’t been running much at all because I was doing other workouts. But I miss running 😢 . Now that I am doing a workout program that gives me the flexibility to run also, I can’t!!!! Super-frustrated!!! .
