A @bostonmarathon#finisher is just a beginner who kept on going. *
In 2010, I could barely run fast enough to catch the bus (got left behind at the bus stop many times), walking up a flight of stairs was exhausting and I would feel like I ran a marathon after running 2 blocks or around a 400 m track. However, I never stopped trying to run and in 2012, I finished my first marathon and qualified for Boston (big shock!!). Then, I went on to qualify 5 more times by 2015. *
If you're reading this, don't give up! I'm no better than anyone else. The only thing I know I'm capable of is working really, really, really hard. What are you working on really, really hard right now?

Philly gave me some brotherly love 💙!!! -cue the trumpet 🎺 fanfare!!!🥊
I am so happy 🤗I made it to the finish line!!! Ran with the 4:00 pacers for 14 miles (they went too fast at the start😬) and my ankle started aching all the way to the hip so walked for about 2 min and at that point I just ran as fast as my ankle could hold. •
Official time: 4:25:23. I’ll take that!!! Better than DNF - did my finish 🤣, which I was kinda ready for😆. I just kept thinking about my mom and how she essentially had to relearn how to walk again that carried me through the end. Shuffled along to the finish line but hey, made it, bum ankle and all. • ✨
(Several times through the last 6 miles, I kept thinking to myself - “She believed she couldn’t, but she did” 🏃🏽♀️😉. ) •

Thought this was gold:-) ~~~~~~~~~
My concession to winter running is leggings and gloves when it’s really freezing.
Some local runners wear what looks like a sleeping bar when the temperature drops below 20 degrees!!!
Just want to share some cool images from across the state, primarily the Willamette Valley. Maybe recap some races and review some gear from the point of view of an inexperienced, slow trail runner. | Mt. Pisgah, Aug. 2018.
