  • by @sarahmichellerice. Taking today to thank my body for all it has done for me and continues to do. Two years ago, I couldn't run a half mile without getting winded. I tried running to the local elementary school down the street and cried a quarter mile in because I just couldn't do it. Fast forward...I signed up for my third half marathon last week and can't wait to see what I can bring to the table in Cleveland in a couple of weeks. Until then, onward and upward! You're a lot stronger than you think you are. I used to darn near pay kids in gym class to help get me out of running the mile...now I pay others to run 13 of them. 😅 If you have a goal, go crush it. And once you crush it, keep setting new ones. Crush those too. And keep eating pizza. Never run out of pizza.

  • 20 miles / 2:36:26 / 7:49 avg / -1°C/30°F . I think it’s safe to say the weather will be very different at the St George marathon in 2 weeks!! While some of you are still training through tough conditions of heat and humidity, today I was training through sub-freezing wind and snow in my face, and heavy, wet layers. We’re all stronger for it!. . 20 minutes WU 60 minutes @ 7:35 pace (7:23, 7:34, 7:33, 7:22, 7:27, 7:34, 7:25, 7:08) 15 minutes easy 20 minutes @ 7:30 pace (7:19, 7:08, 7:12 for 0.77) CD to 20 miles (splits in stories). . Tim woke up dark and early to run the first 11 miles with me. We were shocked that the snow was sticking to the paths and to our shoes (not shown on this sidewalk)! It was making things a little slippery and more work, so after 3 miles we decided to just run right on the road where it was a little better. Cars were (mostly) very nice to give us room. . I ran my cool down too fast, but I really just wanted this run to be over so I could get inside! I’m as ready as I’ll ever be for this marathon. Bring on the taper! 👊🏻

  • I found this picture from 5 years ago (left). I had just started training and actually felt at my best at that point ☝🏼😳 My first incitement to start working out was looks. I was unhappy when looking in the mirror and often lacked energy. I spent my days going to school and then straight to get something unhealthy to eat with my friends. In the evening I would do my homework and then lay in bed scrolling through tumblr's many quotes and pictures of fit girls. I remember thinking "Why do they make it seem so easy when it in fact is very hard?" 😔 One day while thinking that, I decided to do something about it. I went to the gym and talked with a personal trainer. It was one of the most transboundary talks I had ever had with anyone. There I was; telling a stranger about my bad confidence - I felt completely naked. But I also felt like he genuinely wanted to help me. So he then made me a training plan and guided me through it. I knew this was the turning point. I had that one chance, otherwise I would once more get that feeling of failure I already knew so well. I started going to the gym, first 1, then 2, then 3 times a week 💪🏼 I began seeing changes; results of hard work and became hungry for them. It became the first thing I would think of in the morning and the last one in the evening. Not only because of the changes I could see, but also because of all the things I felt. I had discovered that fitness and training was not only about appearance, but also about a clear mind, an increase in energy, being surrounded by inspirational people on a daily basis, and much more. I strive to let my clients discover all the bonuses that come with training and be that last nudge 🙌🏼 Sometimes I tend to push so much forward that I forget to take a look at how far I've come. I can now look back and thank myself for putting in the hard work and being consistent and determined to get results 😍 It has not always been an easy journey, but definitely the best journey of my life so far, and I can't wait to see where I'll be in the next 5 years 🙏🏼

Не сгорят ли за первую же тренировку наши килограммы накаченных мыщц...? 🏃‍♂️На самом деле, не стоит переживать - ваши мышцы не исчезнут сразу😉. Многие ошибочно полагают, что, не набрав с утра необходимый запас углеводов и глюкозы перед физической активностью, организм будет расходовать белок из мышц для получения энергии для тренировки. В результате этого ваше тело будет терять мышечную массу. 🤔Это утверждение не совсем соответствует действительности. В нашем организме постоянно хранятся запасы глюкозы в виде гликогена в печени и мышцах. И, хотя за ночь они частично расходуются, тем не менее, этих резервов хватает на полноценную пробежку с утра. 🍕Особенно, если вспомнить какое количество еды мы жрё...кушаем вечером... Даже если вы настроены на интенсивную работу, организм, после того как исчерпает запасы гликогена, примется за свободные жирные кислоты и лишь потом возьмется за разрушение мышечных белков. 🤗Но, до разрушения мышечных белков, обычно никто не доходит, так как опустошение всех запасов гликогена сопровождается такими симптомами, как головокружение, слабость и чрезмерная усталость. 😨Очень важно помнить и понимать, что утром содержание сахара в крови минимальное... кровь утром всегда достаточно вязкая, в таком состоянии при физических нагрузках пойдёт большая нагрузка на сердце, может стать плохо, вплоть до обморока. 🥤Поэтому, обязательно нужна жидкость с небольшии пищевым энергетиком. Это может быть чай с сахаром или добавкой,допустим, варенья,лимона и т.п..Для тех, кто не может жить без кофе - кофе.
