  • It’s Monday!! I love fresh starts, even if it means Chris starts waking up at 4am again, and I’ve got mornings on my own. Makes me grateful that we gave up the morning hustle to school at 7am. . When the weight and responsibility of homeschooling has felt heavy lately, I remember the one truth that my mother-in-love ( my hero who homeschooled all five of her boys all the way through high school) reinforced to me the other day. At six years old, if all Silas does is read books for a year, he’ll be just fine. That thought makes me go from 😓to ☺️. . What’s one small truth that’s getting you through today? . ( Also, I’m reading Teaching from Rest by Sarah Mackenzie and it’s so tremendously encouraging. I can not recommend it enough!)

  • Post MONDAY Reformer @formpilatesandbarre ✨If someone told me a few years ago you would be woken up by a kick in the face at 4.30am in the morning and still be keen to get up for a Pilates class at 5.30 I never would’ve believed them. I don’t have to do my classes early, but I choose to, it gives me energy to tackle the day... tackle Harry’s high energy needs 🙈🕺🏼 Exercise has always been big for me, it’s always helped with my mental health, suffering with anxiety all my life, so continuing to do so while pregnant was so important to me! I suffered last pregnancy because I didn’t keep up with it how I wanted and I promised myself I wouldn’t let that happen again, and I can’t believe the difference within myself. I am so lucky to have such an amazing team @formpilatesandbarre that keep me motivated for the early mornings, put up with my 100 questions per class and their patience when accomodating to my pregnancy needs! 🤰🏼you girls are the bomb! Of course it’s important to listen to your body and rest while your pregnant but it’s just as important to keep moving! 🖤🖤🖤🤸🏼‍♀️ ps just realised my eyes are shut in this pic 😌🤣🤣

  • I felt you. You grew from a pea to a pineapple. I talked to you, sang to you, told you stories. Could you tell I was scared? I wasn’t ready, how could I be? But then you were here. Ten fingers, ten toes, 7.7 lbs of love. Big fat love. I held you, fed you, kissed your face. I realized I would spend my life making you happy - and knowing that would make me happy. & there are times I’ve wanted to give up. You’ve made me question my sanity. You’ve made me want to cry to my mother & tell her “I get it now.” Then, you smile, say mama & grab my hand. We’re growing together. We’re both seeing the world as new. My heart is open to you. My love will pour on you everyday of your life. I’ll spend everyday making you laugh. You’ll giggle & I’ll do it all over again. We’re in this together, forever. I made you. But you made me a mother. Happy first birthday my sweet son 💙 . . . 📷- @michael_seyler_photography

  • Took a pretty big leap of faith and left my coveted tech role working for the world's largest retailer where I had built up a career over many years, in exchange for a new job title of Stay at Home Mom.  Excited, giddy, and scared shitless basically described my state of mind as I embarked on this new adventure with my family with the main goal of trying to enjoy some of these precious & fleeting moments with my young children. These past 5 months will honestly stay with me for the rest of my life, I have now had some time to reflect on the entire experience and wrote a BLOG POST about it (link in bio!!👆🏼❤️). As mothers, we have the propensity to be pulled in many directions and put a lot of pressure on ourselves. One thing is certain...I want to shout out in solidarity to ANY and EVERY mom that I meet, give them a huge hug whether working, or not, and say "I completely understand! I know what you are going through and YOU GOT THIS!!"

  • Calling all bookworms! What are you reading right now? Lately, Brielle has had a tiny case of separation anxiety so she wakes from a dead sleep the minute I set her down for a nap and looks at me as if I said the meanest thing before bursting into tears. Awesome. Once I get her to sleep, she sleeps great. Anyways, we are working on that, but I'm finding I have a minute here and there when I'm putting her down. I honestly can't do much of anything during this time, but I can hold my phone with one hand and read a book on my @amazonkindle app, which makes the time go fast! I'm almost done with my current read, and I would love your recommendations! What should I read next? I'm not big on self-help or autobiographies. Gimme a good story! 🤓

  • (WARNING: Cinderella pumpkins are not as light as their petite figure would lead you to believe.😂💪) . I’ve always grown up with yearly family vacations—anyone else? . Ask my Dad about his favorite memories + these trips make it to the top. Ask his best advice when raising kids? Hands-down, family vacations make it in his top 5 priorities, moments he would never trade in, investments he’d make again in a heartbeat. . And now I see why. Even if it’s a couple-hour drive to the South Shore, this uninterrupted quality time together is such a breath of fresh air + so bonding! . Growing up, what was your favorite place your family visited? . (P.S. Between Oscar + I, there’s 3 discount codes for you! Check them out in my stories.💁‍♀️)

  • 🦋 “Did you know he turns into a butterfly at the end!?!” 🦋 I love the quote, “Just when the caterpillar thought the world was over, it became a butterfly.” I think so many of us think we are average when we have all this extraordinary potential in us. I’ve been helping someone I love follow her dream, and it has been so joyful. I can’t wait until she realizes she is a beautiful butterfly.

  • Tell me . . 》》 What was something good that happened today? 《《 . . . . I think it's safe to say that we all have good days and not so good days. However, I believe that even on the not so good days we have at least one positive experience (if not more). Especially on the challenging days, I find it even more important to think of something to be grateful for. Gratitude helps to make those days more bearable. . . . I'd love for you to share in comments just one positive thing you experienced today. It doesn't have to be anything big. 💜

  • Yesterday at church someone mentioned living with intention and it reminded me that my word for the year, that I chose way back in January, was “Intention” (how quickly I forgot!) but it gave me some time to think about how have I been living intentionally? I thought I’d share one thing that’s helped me in this and it is being grateful for what I have and where I’m at NOW. I used to spend a lot of time worrying about things I couldn’t control; all the what if’s and why nots. But I have a new technique I like to use. We all know everything is clearer in hindsight right? All those years we thought things were hard or stressful. Well I like to imagine myself 5 or 10 years from now looking back on my life today and think about all the things I love and miss. Like even folding mountains of little underwear and wiping tiny butts. Or the stains on the couch and the never ending mess in the playroom. “Looking back” on all that I have now helps me put everything into perspective and makes me feel so much more grateful for the things I tend to take for granted. Because these stages of life are all so fleeting and it’s sometimes hard to be grateful in the moment when you’re paying your water bill or cleaning pee off the floor. Anyway. Just thought I’d share that little gem for your Monday. ❤️

  • Early morning target runs before everyone else is out and about are our favorite! If you know us, you know I’m an early morning person... I’m usually up around 4:30-5, I like getting up before everyone else and having some time to myself, I usually will make a smoothie, relax and catch up with comments or I’ll just watch greys anatomy reruns until the girls wake up around 7, they’re usually pretty easy in the morning so that’s my favorite time to run any errands or do any grocery shopping. Schedules keep me sane! Sloane takes 2-3 naps depending on that daily schedule, saylor takes one (most days) and then we usually have dinner around 5:30-6 (depending on when daddy gets home) then we take baths, read stories and bedtime at 8. If they didn’t have a bedtime we would probably go crazy! As husband and wife we don’t get much time together so making a point to have the girls in bed by a certain time so we can get a little one on one time is extremely important for us! What works for us, may not work for you... and that’s ok!!! None of us parent the same, but that doesn’t mean any of us are “doing it wrong” we all have our owns ways and that’s just fine, we need to build each other up and grow together as mothers not bring each other down with harmful words or comments. BE the change. BE kind 🥂 . . . . . . #kindnesscounts #uniteinmotherhood #momsofinstagram #motherhoodunplugged #clickinmoms #veganmom #momlife #momshit #realmomlife #realmoments #momboss #marriageworks #bereal #motherhoodintheraw #motherhoodinspired #momentsinmotherhood #mytinymoments #ourtribe #girlmom #reality #instamoms #healthymom #mynameismama #motherhood #betruetoyourself #schedule #cleanlife

  • Sometimes we have to tweak things to be our best selves. For me, that is to cut out caffeine. It has been a week since I have had any caffeine (any crystal light lovers out there 🙋🏼‍♀️). I know caffeine is not ideal for anyone. But for a while, it was fuel for my survival! Seriously. 4 kids in 5 years is no joke. Love them, but it was survival for a while. I've reached a point where it's time I let it go. I'm kind of sad about it to be honest ha. But the effects it has been having on me the last little while are not worth keeping it in my life. So, good bye caffeine! #saysomeprayersforme 😆

  • Hey hey, new and old friends! Welcome to my party tribe! 👋🏼 . I’m Allison, a stay at home mom to Evie and Hudson, an online party planner, and the podcast hostess of Memories in Moments. I’m also an expert on all things @bravotv and 90 Day Fiancé, and can make a stellar roast chicken if I do say so myself. 💁🏼‍♀️ . I’m a mom chasing a dream to help other moms create memories and traditions with their loved ones. I am here to be a resource for you to help make celebrations more realistic for your busy life. I’ve got tips and tricks coming out of my ears for how to implement little ways that you can make memories with your families, and I’m here to share them! My goal is to hear “I actually really enjoyed celebrating that” from everyone I can. 🎉 . I’m over the pressure of being the Pinterest mom. I’m over the need to impress and spend all night creating some activity my kids will do in 5 minutes. However, I am into sharing tangible and easy ways to spend quality time with your family in a way that’s enjoyable and not overwhelming. To help you turn the volume up just a little bit on life’s little moments. ✨ . Thank you for following along and sharing with your friends! It means the world to me that you’re helping spread the world and we’re just getting started, sister. 👊🏼 . Say hi below and tell me your favorite guilty pleasure...bonus points if yours is 90 Day Fiancé too 😉 #soulsisters . #memoriesinmoments #honestlymothering #ohheymama

  • The countdown of leaving Eneko begins. I finally found a job that worked for my family🙌🏼. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’ve been very picky with my job hunting. I had specific needs and I wasn’t planning to settle🤷🏻‍♀️ I knew I’d eventually find something that was exactly what I wanted. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I got hired at Target at the beginning of the month but I knew retail just wasn’t what I wanted, I kept looking for a Dental office. I had a feeling I was getting close to finding one. [I had been looking for months] 2 weeks later, I found one🖤 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I’m gonna miss my baby so much but I know he’ll be in good hands. & I’m just so excited to continue my career as an assistant. It’s my shhhiiizzz👌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Drop some words of encouragement👇🏼 I’m gonna need it😆

  • Staying lean year round doesn’t mean you have to exclude the foods you love 😝🤘🏼 - - - How can you stay lean while still eating carbs 🍕🍝and drinking alcohol? 🧐⤵️ - - Fat loss has been severely over complicated.👋🏼😟 - - - My inbox is full of similar questions: - - Do carbs make you fat? Can I still eat carbs and lose fat? Can carbs be in a fat loss diet? - - - The truth is simple. In order to lose fat, you must be in a caloric deficit. Does that mean you have to cut your calories super low??? NOPE. A slight deficit of 10-15% is enough to create fat loss. - - - You do not need to cut carbs out of your diet. You do not need to be restrictive. You do not need to spend hours in the gym. - - - Stop the yo-yo diet cycle, end the weekend shit show of overeating. 🤷🏼‍♀️ - - Learn exactly how and what to eat to get the progress and KEEP IT. - - I created the Four Week Fat Loss Course to demystify losing fat. I am so excited to give this group of women some eye opening secrets. 🤯 - - If you need someone to get real with you and hold you accountable you won't want to miss this. ✨🤘🏼🖤 - - Are you ready to lose the last 10-15lbs?🤔 Have you struggled with unwanted belly fat? 🤔 Are you tired of not getting that next level progress? 🤔 - - Click the link in my bio to join the 4 week Fat Loss course 🙌🏼💓✨ - - - #fatlosshelp #fatlossprogress #fitfam #fitmomtobe #postpartumfitnessjourney #takingbackmotherhood #motherhoodinspired #kgkfitsisters #keepgoingkat #strongmom #momstrong #getitdone #mombodgoals #mombod #strongmama #4weekfatloss #keepgoingkat #eatforyourgoals #iifym #macromoms #macrosmadeeasy

  • On Saturday Evelyn helped me out to buy some personal & hygiene items to fill out the bag that I got at #extraordinarylove event @thisisvillage for women who are in need. Local women, right here in Surrey. This was a great way to show a 6 year old the way we can love on others and help the needy. Although it would be much easier to do it myself, I waited until Evelyn was in the mood to go help me and it turned our very good experience for both of us! 🙌🏻 Which doesn’t happen a lot, as shopping for my daughter is “boooriiiing” 😁 Thanks @erin.e.clark for the tip to involve kids in this 😉 We prayed over the bag together thinking about the woman who will receive it 🙏🏻 And I pray that my daughter will learn compassion, love and grow up to be caring towards poor and needy. #teachthemyoung

  • I just finished @sneiquist’s Present Over Perfect. I’ll be honest and say that 75% of it didn’t speak to me at all. I almost didn’t keep reading. But somewhere in the middle were four or five chapters where it felt like she drained my brain of every thought I had over the summer. . Oh, the things we tell ourselves. I only have two kids, not five. I shouldn’t be tired. My Beautycounter business isn’t as big as so and so’s. I shouldn’t be tired. My husband doesn’t deploy and I’m not a single mom. I shouldn’t be tired. I could go on. . The reality? I had a terrible sleeper for two years, and then as soon as she started sleeping I had a newborn again. I was trying to do a million things with my business so people wouldn’t only see me as that direct sales girl, rather than focusing on what really brings me joy. (People may still see that, the difference is my GAFs are all used up.) My husband does travel nearly every week and sometimes it is physically, mentally, and/or emotionally draining to be the one at home with the kids. I have been tired for a long time. . So now I realize that being tired isn’t relative to someone else’s life. It’s okay to be tired and it’s okay to do something about it.
