Yellow Jacket Soup utilizing the century old Cherokee recipe brought to our attention by @hseanbrock (still waiting on you and @samuel.jett to come dig one with us brother) This was our second dig and I would say we radically improved @mylesscaglione got stung a few times (he was doing the initial nitro pour) but @suzetteramsey16 and I escaped with no stings and a nest albeit a small one. We’re still looking for a few more before the frost hits so if you come across a nest in the ground please don’t exterminate it just let me know and we will set up a time to come dig it. I’ve done previous posts on the flavor profile this soup exhibits so feel free to check the #yellowjacketsoup hashtag to find those or stop in and let us show you why we are attempting to bring back this ancient recipe, hint hint, it’s delicious. Be sure to swipe 👉 to see Myles and Suzette removing the nest (I truly have the best staff!)

Hello, 30-degree mornings. I can’t say I’ve missed you … though I can admit that I appreciate any excuse to swing by Cocoa Cinnamon before work for a cacao canela chocolate to warm me up!
In honor of the return of sweater weather — and ‘cause it’s Monday, and we all need this — I did a roundup (link in bio) of the coziest, most charming coffee shops in the Triangle.
☕️@heirloombrewshop, one of Raleigh’s newest and trendiest coffee shops
☕️@perennialchapelhill, which strikes an equal balance of intimate, chic, and modern
☕️ @cocoacinnamon, a dreamy destination for hot chocolate lovers
And more! Check it out and stay warm out there friends.
Pro tip: If you happen to wait until 7+ months in to take your first date night (without going to a wedding or some other event), head to @bardorestaurant. You should definitely order the Ricotta Tortellini with coconut and green curry, and the Spanish Octopus with chorizo. I would also recommend the Putting Down Roots 🍸 and Carrot Cake with Ginger Ice Cream for dessert. And it’s okay if you talk about your baby more than you plan to because you love her and it’s weird to be without her, but you also know it’s so good for you to do things for you and your marriage. And to have an identity outside of being a “mom.” That’s ok, too. And you remember that you used to love trying out new restaurants and it’s okay to still do that and strike a balance, if that even exists. So, yeah, that’s my advice, 7+ months in.... Do you remember your first date night post baby?
If you haven’t tried @thesimplegreekraleigh you are really Ｍｉｓｓｉｎｇ Ｏｕｔ!! All the ingredients are fresh, you can pick what you want, and they have tons of meat lovers, vegetarian, and vegan options-this is seriously my new go to spot!!!
