Day 32 - Back on the road
After dropping Ellen to the airport at 5 and returning our rental car and resembling my bike I head for the closest campsite, which is 3 hours cycle away from Zurich.
So I'm cycling along right, nearly at my campsite for the night luckliy as it's about 9:00pm and the sun is starting to set. On my right, in the middle of nowhere I see a bar, it's called the "The big apple" as I approach I notice all the windows are boarded up with the words "Girls, Girls, Girls" written on them. Outside stands a women in a very short school uniform type outfit. As i approach this bar my gps screams in "100 meters your destination is on the right". Oh fuck no, luckliy it's not the bar but down a lane near it. I turn down a dark lane just past the big Apple. I start to get a feeling like this isn't going to be the best campsite. I roll in it's a tiny field with about 6 caravans in it, the reception seems to just be a bar and outside sits a group of men drinking cans, none of which speak any English. One of them seems to be the owner he's wearing a wife beater. He continues to speak to me in Swiss-german. Eventually his 9 year old son shows up and is able to speak a little english. He shows me the area I can put my tent which turns out to be a massive sloping bank. Really not liking the feel of this place and not wanting to camp on a slope for the night I just conintue cycling. Next campsite is 30km away in over the Germany border which I race for as the light starts to drop rapidly. Arriving at around 11:30pm I find a spot among the other tents and pitch in the dark. .
Forgot to take any pictures so here is an unrelated pictures of a Cave place we visited a few days ago that looks very like rivendell
