Race day tomorrow. Accept the pain.
I went to ParkRun this morning to run a couple of easy miles, it’s also a great excuse to see everyone and then head out for breakfast too! And now I’ll roll and stretch and then put my feet up. 💁🏻♀️
Race mode : ON
10 beautiful, chilly, hilly forest miles this morning 😍🌳
This morning was all about getting one last long run in before running an off road half in two weeks time. I went for a trusty parkrun sandwich. 6 miles before, parkrun just trying to maintain pace and not get too competitive and then 1 mile back to the car to finish. .
I also used this morning's run in to test out my trail shoes (definitely not had them one for about a year!) and to try the @ivyverdure#irelief anti-chafing stick on a long run! Both were brilliant and have filled me with confidence for the race! (If you fancy trying out @ivyverdure for yourself visit their website and use code BETHAN15 for 15% off 👍) .
All in all a brilliant way to start the weekend!! 🧡
Someone once said to me, why bother going to parkrun if you’re not even competing? Naturally I looked behind myself to see if they were actually talking to me because I didn’t realise I looked like I was representing out of shape Mums at the opinionated Olympics.
Oh yep, okay they were talking to me.
My reply was simple, “ Have you been to parkrun?” Them, “No.” Me, “Well I beat you then.” 😉
Park run and a 5k pb yesterday (apparently)! @tomtomsports has given me sub 34, and parkrun result is 34:20 which is a course pb at one of my favourite parkruns! 🐕 Also so nice to see all my splits below 7 min a km, so being aware of my pace and slowly getting some consistency is paying off - as well as this perfect weather for me currently‼️How was your weekend❓

You read that right! 🙌🏼
Effective rehab from minor ankle ligament injuries can take over six months. Why? It can take this long for the brain to properly develop the skills that will reduce the chance of re-injury, eg. proprioception.
The biggest predictor of an ankle ligament injury? A previous ankle ligament injury! Why? Because people half-arse their rehab. Simple as that.
Get it done.
Congratulations to Thurrock parkrun on their third anniversary! Delighted to be picking up an award for the most first finishes (male) this year. Thank you for encouraging me to keep running after my injury last year. #parkrun#running
🏃🏻♂️Fail to prepare and you prepare to fail! I was prepped and ready to give it all at Parkrun this weekend! Had good time to warm up, have a stretch and went to the start line positive mental attitude 😁
Well needed Sunday fuel with Tom’s monstrosity of a portion featuring in the background! I’ve had quite an eventful weekend with hitting my years running goal of sub 25, with a time of 24.33 at yesterday’s Halifax parkrun, then Tom took me to my first ever football match yesterday afternoon, today has been nice and chilled but I still feel like I need another weekend before Monday can begin!
Sunday long run and last long run before next weeks #worksophalfmarathon@werliddells was on pacing duties and he pretty much nailed it on the head for the whole run.
Before we set off the car thermostat was saying it was 18 degrees outside and it definitely felt warm whilst running. My top is sopping wet through with sweat.
Pros of the run is I felt comfortable at the pace I was running meaning that next week I will have it in me to push on and get the sub 1.30 I’m hoping for,
Negative is that my hip was starting to tighten up but will spend all week stretching and foam rolling iron out any niggles.
The rest of the weeks runs will be chilled and relaxed.
Day 325 of #50burpeesfor330days
Hope everyone is having an awesome day 👍🤙
I haven’t really ran since I had major surgery last summer mostly due to a back injury but now my back is doing so much better I think it’s time to get the running shoes out again #thehealthyfamilyfoodieni#parkrun#omagh
