  • Our bodies are amazing. From the time we are born, our bodies know that we must oxygenate our blood. It knows we must fuel ourselves for energy. It knows that we must move around and get our blood circulating. Everyday, our bodies pump quarts and quarts of blood though our veins. When we get cut, our body knows to clot the blood at the sight so we don’t bleed to death. This is all done without us doing a thing or even thinking about it. This is why I find it so vital to fuel my body well and care for it. My body is a beautiful, amazing machine that performs wonderful tasks everyday. Many people do not think about this though and treat their bodies like trash; depriving themselves from sleep and nutrition just to make the most money or have a six pack. We must fuel and treat our bodies well. If we do so, our bodies will treat us well; I t’s a two way relationship. I fuel my body with whole plant foods, get my blood pumping and heart rate up on the daily, make sure I get adequate sleep, and try my very darn best to listen to my body.   • Waffle Wednesday meet @eatbanza Superfood Crisps 🙌🏼 I can never pass up a good snack plate and today I was feeling creative. Here’s all the deats👇🏼 #kalemesam 1 cup @eatbanza elbows 2 tbsp water 1 tsp salt 1 tsp garlic powder 1 tsp turmeric 1/2 tsp black pepper 1/8 tsp cayenne 1/2 tsp @navitasorganics spirulina 1/2 tbsp psyllium husks Directions: 1. Prepare @eatbanza according to box direction. I like to undercook mine (5-6 min) to prevent sticking and breaking. Strain and rinse with cool water. 2. Combine @eatbanza with water and spices. Stir well to ensure that spices are evenly distributed. 3. Lightly grease pre-heated press with oil (I used @chosenfoods spray 🥑 oil) and fill iron with pasta mixture. Ensure that press is full to avoid breaking. 4. Firmly close the press + cook at med-high heat until crisp and browned (about 15-20 min). 5. Remove @eatbanza waffle from press and let cool on a baking rack so that all sides remain crisp. 6. Enjoy plain or with your favorite dip!

  • ‼️ fitness post ‼️ how many times will you tell yourself “next year” is going to be my year? I know I told myself that “next year” I was going to get it together and I never did. All I did was feel sorry for myself and shove the worst foods possible down my throat. Well thank goodness I finally woke the eff up in every aspect of my life and decided to make a change. My fitness goals have changed. When I was 21 / 22 I wanted to be as skinny as possible. Then I gained a bunch of weight when I went to beauty school because I had no time to cook or workout. I ate sooooo bad. It’s ok to have your ups and downs. I finally told myself 2018 would be my year and I think I achieved that goal. Some people wanna be skinny, I’m trying to gain weight and get slim thick 🤣 To the guy who wrote “do more squats” in my year book freshman year of highschool and who drew stick figures of me, thank you and I never forget you on leg day. But when I started cooking my sophomore year in college, a friend recommended making eggs in a hole (or whatever you call it) using the bacon grease & now I do that whenever I have extra time!
