Like maybe a turtle stuck on your back when it’s time to get up, I have worked muscles & joints for what seems like the first time ever! Get toned and get Core strong. As per Doctors orders!! My brain needs to get used to all the directions though. It can be mind boggling!
So surfers 🏄 if you saw our last post, then your shoulders will be niiiiiice and mobile from all the effective warming up you’ve been doing with your Anterior Delt Stretch 👏 So, what can you do to also keep those shoulders nice and strong? Add this shoulder burner into your weekly fitness routine, and you’ll find yourself paddling longer and stronger in no time with those shoulder boulders🌊
🌊Tricep Plank Shift:
➡️Pop up into a full plank position (if you can’t do this with good form, keep your knees on the floor)
➡️Slowly lower your chest to JUST off the floor – keeping your elbows by your sides (hi triceps) and shoulders away from ears (bye traps)
➡️Shift your body forward (again, everything bar hands and toes/or knees, stays off the ground) then back
➡️Push up into original starting position 👊🏼And VOILA – shoulders are stronger, so you can catch wave after wave (and tell everyone Stoke Physio is the reason you’re able to stay in the water for hours longer)

Great performance of 'The swan on the Cadillac' by one of our instructors 'Sari'. This beautiful back extension gives the front of your shoulders and chest a wonderful stretch. It also strengthens the muscles in your back. This exercise requires a deep lift from the powerhouse to support the back extending.

I’ve been obsessed with obliques this week and trying to find different ways to turn ‘em on! Ya’ll...OBLIQUES are basically magical 🧙♀️ we use ‘em bending, twisting, carrying, golfing, playing tennis, balancing, gyrating, getting freaky on the dance floor, idk what you do in your free time but GET YOU SOME OBLIQUE STRENGTH! Do you have low back pain?? Having strong and supple obliques could also significantly reduce low back pain. 🙌🏼👌🏼 It’s a piece of the puzzle but certainly an important one.
