  • Dagens halvlånga långpass blev ett socialt och hårt pass med ett specialupplägg. Först 10 km i ca 4:15 min/km och sen 5*1 km i sub 4 min/km med 4 min vila. Lite lång vila men allt för att passa in i passet som @asalinneriksson hade där hon skulle ”vila” i 4:15 min/km. Med lite jogg innan och efter fick jag ihop ca 23 km. Så siffrorna i bilden är lite missvisande. 😄🙈 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 15 dagar kvar till Valencia Marathon och jag tror tusan det är rekordmånga svenskar som ska dit och springa i år, skitkul tycker jag. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ 🇺🇸 Today we ran 23k with 10k at 4:15 min/k and 5*1k in sub 4 min/k pace. 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

  • Jeg tro at “Comfortably Numb” er mit yndlings-nummer med Pink Floyd. Det var ikke det første nummer jeg hørte med dem og jeg synes at deres albums laver nogle ret fantastiske nedslag og sætter nogle ganske markante milepæle, som andre kan måle sig imod. Egentlig kan jeg bedst lide albummet “Meddle”, men “Comfortably Numb” er mit absolutte favorit-nummer med dem. Det er så fyldt med kontrast. Både i teksten, men også i kontrasten imellem Roger Waters og David Gilmour. Først er det Waters’ ru stemme, der med de karakteriske staccato-agtige fraseringer, næsten spytter ordene ud på en vrængende og alligevel melodisk måde imens en mur af keyboard suppleres af Gilmours guitarspil. Det er lidt mørkt og dystert, men pludselig brydes det af et lille, men tydeligt tromme-fill inden hele musik-billedet løftes og Gilmours høje og klare stemmer får nummeret til at svæve. Det er smukt og netop skiftet i sangen gør det endnu mere tydeligt og stærkt. Jeg kan godt lide sådanne skift i musik. Modet til at bryde helt og absolut med det eksisterende og lade musikken bevæge sig i nye retninger. Det kræver altid noget af den, der lytter til musikken. Man skal være åben for at lade dette ske. Man skal ikke dvæle ved den del, som man sætter pris på, men derimod finde en kvalitet i at bryde konformiteten. Lidt som “The Soft Parade” med The Doors eller dengang Bob Dylan spillede elektrisk på Newport Folk Festival. Den slags er jeg vild med. Jeg er ikke selv på denne måde og mangler måske modet til at bryde mine egne, konforme rammer, men jeg inspireres af folk, der har modet til at sætte ild til det hele og gå i en anden retning uden anden grund end at se det eksisterende brænde og aldrig lade andre end sig selv definere hvem man måtte være.

Scroll down on my profile for parts 1 & 2. • What protein supplement should you take? You don't need to as long as you get enough from food. But as you progress, there will come a time where you just can't get enough from regular food. It is then should you start supplementing with protein. Don't make it a primary source of protein, because it is a SUPPLEMENT to make protein more convenient for you. • What's the best workout program? None. It is the one you can stick to till the very last day.If you're following a 12 week program, don't quit after 6 weeks because you think it's not working. Don't even quit after 11 week... of course it hasn't worked! There's still a week left! • How much junk food? You can have cheat meals once a week if your goal is fat loss, and twice a week if it's strictly muscle gain. This should be on training days. • Hard to stay motivated? This is what I do.. I remember why I started, I follow people who I want to be like on social media. and have this constant exposure to them over time, and I keep looking back at my before picture to remind myself how much I've changed.   • ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Being told by a former work colleague after 4:55 in the London Marathon that I wasn’t a proper runner was a gift. As was being passed by a man running with a refrigerator on his back! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because it meant that, if my 4:55 time was my worst then it was a base to pick myself up and improve from. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Fast forward 🔜 thanks to my coach @john_stazza by working through a structured and progressive training programme which has helped me improve. However improvement isn’t a straight line. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Post NYC I could had stayed stuck with not hitting my race goal, and blamed the physical/mental fatigue post marathon. Then carried it forward to yesterday... ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Facing the discomfort of both those experiences became my fuel for yesterday’s Half Marathon PB 1:25:11 where I finished 10th place overall. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mindset is key, and I’ll be talking more about the lessons I’ve learnt and am STILL learning at the workshop lead by ASICS Pro Team Sports Psychologist Stuart Holliday and psychotherapist William Pullen next Saturday. Also follow me and check out the results I got with the program in the first week! - - FLEXIBLE DIETING by @maxfitness - This is what a flexible dieting SHOULD look like. - Everything thinks that if you're a flexible dieter or eat IIFYM, then it means all you eat is junk food. - This is a lie. Flexible dieting means eating a diet primarily of clean foods, and then sprinkling in some junk foods. It's not eating crap all the time. Do this, and you'll be built like Hodor. - If you're eating for fat loss, AT LEAST 80% of your calories should come from clean foods. The rest of your foods can come from junk foods as you wish. - If you're eating to build muscle, AT LEAST 60% of your calories should come from clean foods. - Remember to hit your minimum protein requirements, eat clean foods a majority of the time, get at least 3 Cups of non-starchy vegetables per day, and that's how you ace a Flexible Diet. - For example, yesterday, I ate clean foods all day, and then in the evening, I ate 350 Calories of milk chocolate. It was incredible, and I felt completely satisfied with my "fat loss" diet. Is there any other diet in the world that allows you to eat chocolate? There are people who want to start on their fitness journey but never do because they never get these questions answered. Hopefully someone like that reading this might find the answers you are looking for. • How do you use the equipment? Get the instructor at the gym to teach you. He/she will be happy to walk you through. Have the trainer train you for a good week so you get familiar with all the exercises. You can look them up on YouTube as well. • What exercises to lose fat? A combination of cardio and weights, with lots of protein, and a caloric deficit. For a beginner, simply switching to a healthier lifestyle to kickstart your fat loss. • What exercises to build muscle? Strictly weights. And again, because you are a beginner, progress will come fast. Capitalize on it by eating lots of protein and calories! • How many times per week do you train? As many times as it takes to hit every muscle group. It will depend on the split. If you follow push-pull-leg, then train 3 times with 4 rest days. If you do chest, back, arms, shoulders, & legs, that's 5 days with 2 rest days. You can even split arms and include triceps with chest and biceps with back, so now you have chest & triceps, back & biceps, shoulders, and legs.
