I had an amazing race at the Music City Triathlon this morning!! The weather was awesome and I felt great!
My time was 1:18:09 and I won my age group!
I felt really fast on the swim and run (my 5K was 21:19). My bike was better than usual, so I’m really happy with my results!

This run happened yesterday, but life has been so busy and I’ve been so distracted with everything that this posted hasn’t happened until now. I’m happy I got this run in, regardless of my pace, because this last week I’ve been sick and unable to breathe really, at all. I struggled through this run, because I couldn’t quite breathe well enough and hills haven’t been on the schedule for quite some time. I ran from my house in Molalla, to my workplace in Beavercreek, and my wonderful friend Steph gave me a ride back to my house so I could shower and make it to my chiropractor appointment. I wore my @camelbak for the duration of my run and it was amazing. A part of me is contemplating wearing it race-day though, just because the weight of it is noticeable.
Today I shadowed my friend/trainer @abreathyoga during one of her yoga sessions. It was wonderful being able to watch her worker her magic and learn from her. Chatting with her afterward over coffee was just as amazing. I love connecting with people through fitness, and Annie was one of my very first connections; I met her over 5 years ago and a lot of my love for running and fitness stems from her. She’s such an inspirational individual ♥️ My @runrevel marathon is one week away. I know I am slightly undertrained, but I’m excited regardless. I know I can finished the 26.2 miles, I’m just not sure how fast I’ll be able to run them 🤷🏻♀️ Life happens, just go with it 💕🏃🏻♀️
Early morning miles with my #mrtt run squad. 1 mile solo then met up to do 3 with the girls , then last 2 miles solo again while they headed out for a longer run. 6 miles total at 8:59/mi. Enjoying the taper 🤗 8 more days til @thesfmarathon 🏃🏼♀️🏃🏽♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻♀️

But seriously. ✔It came from FIRST and FOREMOST, building up the ability to hoist heavy weighted pull ups.
If you are able to pull at LEAST 50% of your bodyweight (70kg BW pulling with additional 35kg), it is a good start. ✔Work on 1 arm pull ups holds and eccentrics.
I am still working on them. Doesn't mean u don't see them I don't do them.
Work up to 4 sets of singles/doubles or MAXIMUM 3 reps with LONG rest between sets (>4 mins). You want to drill these drills in.
Yes, I don't do LOADS of volume.
But I do them regularly and fresh.
This is KEY.

Finally..today’s trail run felt good again - I had a squeezed nerve in my lower back which caused tightness in the back of my leg and numbness in my foot. Lucky I was referred to a good chiropractor who found the cause: squeezed sciatic nerve > poor blood supply & poor muscle function in leg and foot. It’s all connected. A couple of #spineadjustment sessions should fix it 😁 #holistichealth 👊🏻 What are your common ‘niggles’ ? 🙃

Running on vacation is always interesting. On one hand I wanna get my runs in, but on the other hand I don’t want to be a party pooper!! I’ve learned not to expect too much from “vacation runs” and just get what I can!! On that note, today’s run went surprisingly well!!! Got my eye on a sub 20 5k this summer!! What are your summer running goals??
