just finished filming outside...in all black...pants and a hoodie...with this Texas heat. Needless to say I’m done for the day. New “how to start running” YouTube vid going up tomorrow, so make sure you got those post notifications on!!
This isn’t about a transformation because if you ask me I’m STILL a work in progress. 🙌
The picture on the left was around 6 months pregnant 🤰🏻 and the one on the right was 18 months postpartum.
You see I thought it would all come back easy. That if I kept running during my pregnancy I’d magically feel good running again once I had my son. The truth is that it was a much bigger journey than I could have ever imagined. Things simply weren’t the same anymore and my body didn’t respond in the same ways. The good news is you do get there. It takes some time and it isn’t always a straight line of a journey but slowly but surely you begin to feel like yourself again and begin to find the runner you once were (or at least close). In some ways I’m stronger, in some ways I’m weaker, but I view my journey as a constant work in progress. To me that is the most important part! 🙌🏃🏼♀️

Zdziwieni? Może nie brzmi to jak tekst trenera, ale... ... wychodzę z założenia, że zmuszanie się do jakiejś aktywności fizycznej nikomu na dobre nie wyszło. Nie będziesz miał motywacji ani chęci, bo jeśli czegoś nie lubisz, to nawet najlepsze sposoby na motywację nie pomogą - nie będzie Ci się chciało i już.
Ale bieganie to przecież nie wszystko! Są inne formy aktywności, które możesz robić. ⚡ I wykonywane regularnie i z przyjemnością przyniosą dużo lepsze efekty niż zmuszanie się do smutnego człapania. 😁
To teraz spowiadać się: jakiej aktywności fizycznej NIE lubicie?
Uwaga, teraz będzie hit: ja nie lubię... chodzenia. Nudzi mnie to strasznie 😂 jeszcze gdy mam cel, np. przejście do punktu A do B to spoko, ale jeśli ma to być chodzenie bez celu, to umieram z nudów! 😂 Dlatego tam gdzie mogę, jeżdżę rowerem 🚴

So when I was on holiday I had a major crisis of confidence about my ability to run my half marathon later this year and considered deferring! 😞
My knee was at it's worse painfully clicking and I was worried I would need to stop running for the rest of the year until everything was healed! 😕
But then I adopted a run 5 min | walk 30 sec method and it seemed to be working and whilst my knee is not 100% it's getting much better. But I'm way off my training plan and I had doubts whether I could pull it back. Then an old post appeared on my FB Time Hop - in 2016 I was in a similar situation after I damaged my hip training and somehow that year I completed the Great North Run despite my longest run being 9 miles! 😊
It's given me the right royal ass kicking I needed ~ a renewed sense of purpose ~ and an epic motivation boost! I'm got my belief back and it has been sorely missed... 😁

I’m not naturally a runner. It’s taken a lot of work and consistency over 6 years to get to where I am now, and I still have a long way to go. I’ve knocked off 30 mins from my half marathon time, which I am so proud of, but that process has not been linear. I have had big jumps and then periods where it feels like I am getting slower!! The faster I get, the harder it becomes to knock that time off. Now, as coach @ahappypace says, ‘every second counts’ in those PB’s!!
My autumn/winter goal is to run a half PB...I know I can get closer to that 1.40 mark, esp after running a 7.32 pace during a hot 10k!
