  • My favorite sessions with Trainer are when we do speed and agility/footwork drills like this morning (video is from another day tho). I am positive that in another life, I was a 6’0, 200 lb free safety in the NFL. So to me the drills are just fun, but they are also a sneaky way to build ankle stability and - in this video - keep my hips straight while hopping over the cones...which I was unable to do. Both make me a stronger and more efficient runner. Lots to improve on, but we are just starting up again.   • After Sunday's 21k (and longest run since January I think) monday I felt good to go to the gym and work upper body, today I was thinking in a recovery run but warming up I felt stiff legs and some little soreness here and there, so I decided to play it smart, listen to my body and just do some full body stretching with #yoga (or at least I tried it!!) 🙈 . #runners #runnerslife #worksmarternotharder #soyuntronco #flexibility #yogawithadriene

  • today is my early day when i wake up at 6 am to get to the gym before my first class at 9:30. let me tell you - getting up early during the school year is a whole lot different than during the summer. i’m exhausted - i went for an extremely easy run because i felt half asleep during it and my foot is still hurting. i’m not exactly sure why but i have a forced rest day tomorrow since wednesday’s are my busy days with classes. thursday i’m hoping to get in a longer run, or possibly a run with the running club. - i also did about five minutes on the stairs and a 15/20ish minute ab workout. i don’t have much time on tuesdays but i get in what i can!

  • RUNNER’S KNEE Knee pain is probably my least favorite running injury and it pops up at the most inconvenient times (like when I’m marathon training.) I’ve read that weighted wall sits can make your knee stronger so I’m starting to give those a shot, but does anyone have anything they’ve tried that has helped? Any advice is appreciated!

  • So here’s the thing. Last spring I bought a Forerunner 35 so I could track my treadmill runs (over our oh so long winters) as I wanted to see my splits but I can’t turn off my GPS so it won’t track! . . . . . One suggestion was to put it on my shoe. I did so during my recovery noon hour run today and it clocked me at just over double! (Swipe left) . . . . . If I wear it on my wrist it clocks about 65% of my run 😥 . . . . . Here’s the other thing, if I hang onto the handles of the tread as I often do after a sprint it doesn’t track those ‘steps’...I’m feeling like I’ve been blessed with a real lemon 🍋. . . . . .
