A strange and similar thing about running is that sometimes, I suspect I didn’t enjoy it while I was doing it, but I feel so good about it afterward, it blurs the specifics of the run itself into something I am certain I enjoyed. And so I keep doing it.
Did a scouting run/hike to check out the route for my half marathon on December 1st. Yeah there are some pretty good sized hills… but nothing I can’t prepare for and there is no shame in walking. It’s more the rocky path with ruts and roots and steep drop offs that will be taxing.
Okay then!! Eyes wide open during this training cycle. A double #dipsea will undoubtedly find its way into my schedule this fall.
Perfect long run day 💝- truly was a gift and much appreciated. Thankful that I could have my Dad alongside me, too.
People ask how I stay motivated - Seriously, I get GRUMPY if I don’t train SOMEthing. That’s the motivation- mental stability, straight up. The hot body is just an afterthought 😂
P.S. I’m THE worst bartender in the world. Never let me make you a drink. This drink is death and old sneakers on ice, but it’s made with really good bourbon💰 🤦🏻♀️.... soooo....
Another video of some of my favorite lower body exercises for running. These moves help strengthen the primary muscles used for running such as the glutes, quadriceps, hamstrings and even abs. When it comes to running, your glute muscles 🍑 are your main source of power, so it’s extremely important to increase strength in this muscle. When you’re running, you should aim to have a mid foot strike which sends the power of your stride to your posterior chain (glutes and hamstrings) and will help propel you forward. Try these excercises, doing multi-joint movements before single joint, 8-12 reps and 4 sets of each. Don’t be afraid to lift heavy and add weight! 🏋🏼♀️
