  • ⤵️TUESDAY TRUTH TIME⤵️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I started my fitness journey there was nothing more that I wanted to do, than to influence others. As time went on, my passion turned to fear - thinking 💭 I wasn’t good enough, I didn’t have enough followers, I didn’t have a crazy bomb physique like most fitspo girls.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This was ALL a LIE. A lie I believed for so long. A lie that dictated what I pursued. I finally said enough is enough 🙅🏽‍♀️ and said I AM enough. Last week was my first BBR Outdoor Bootcamp, and although I didn’t have the turnout I expected, I will continue to host my Bootcamps because it brings me pure joy, even if only two people show 😂, because that is ✌🏽 people I am influencing. Two more than I would be if I just crawled into my shell 🐚 and let FEAR dictate what I pursue.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So I challenge you to step out of your shell and pursue what you love - FULL FORCE.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And if you’re in the Orlando area I’d love to see you at my BBR Bootcamps on Sundays @ 4pm! 🙋🏽‍♀️ DM me or email [email protected] to reserve your spot!⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ For Private Personal training/online coaching inquiries DM me or 📧 me [email protected] and click the link on my bio! 💁🏽‍♀️⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #QTSGFChallenge⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #AtHomeWorkout⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #OnlineCoach #PersonalTrainer⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #BBRgirl⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

  • Track Tuesday! 🔁🏃🏼‍♀️🔁 • • My coach had a new workout for me. He called it a ‘lactate threshold’. I’ve heard people talk about them before but wasn’t intimately familiar. So I googled it. After two websites mentioned running so hard you felt like you might vomit (or actually do it 🤢) I stopped googling. • • But I wasn’t going to let that intimidate me. No pain, no gain- right? • • So I programmed my workout in (2 mi wu, 6x800 with 2 min jog rest, 2 mi CD), laced up my shoes and showed that workout who’s boss. Don’t let the smile fool you. I’m exhausted and my legs are thrashed. Tomorrow’s recovery run is gonna be rough. • • Check my story for paces. Have a good night y’all! ❤️

  • Another workout day where I had to be flexible. My brother has a treadmill with a decline, so I thought it would be awesome to try it out (good training for my downhill half). However, I had a hard time figuring out the settings and couldn’t get it to go any faster than a 7:30 pace (maybe he programmed the maximum speed?) I played around with the incline/decline though to try to get some variety in. Here’s how it went: ♦️1 WU mile @ 8:41 pace at 1.5 incline ♦️3 miles at -3 decline ♦️1 mile at 3 incline ♦️2 miles at 0 incline ♦️3 miles at -3 decline ♦️1 mile at 3 incline ♦️.25 miles at 0 incline All paces at 7:30 except that warm up mile. This treadmill felt a lot harder than the ones I run on at home. The 0 incline felt more like a 2, and the 3 felt HARD! Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️. At least I got sweaty, that counts for something!

  • Peak training week and going on vaca in two days.... and a cold🤧has hit me😩😢! So in Shelby Barkshire fashion💃🏼I am in “get me and keep the rest of my family on the heathy train🚞!” Extra veggies🥦🥕, oils🙌🏼, epsom salt, rest, and well the list goes on..... I don’t do anything half way😆! - Almost skipped my 🏃🏼‍♀️run but mentally I just couldn’t, training has gone so well and now this😢, so I thought I’d just do a run/walk but when I hit the pavement I couldn’t get myself to stop! So a partial SPEED💨workout it was! W/U, strides and Instead of 6 repeats I did 3 with all walking recovery’s and did the rest of the time on the schedule as easy miles. 7.5 miles, 72minutes, 9:34pace, Avg💗145 - SWIPE➡️..... I tried my very first pair of #injinjisocks and well I couldn’t even tell during my run that I was wearing crazy socks! So it’s a win.

  • Smiling because I gave it my best effort today 😊👊🏼 Sometimes you have good workouts, and sometimes you have ones that are mediocre and you feel like death 💀 Well with 97 degree feel, and 74 dew point, I felt like death today😂 • 2 ⬆️ 4 x 2k (with 2 min rests) - splits were 7:40, 7:45, 7:50, 7:59. The last 2k I wanted to quit within 400m, but I told myself “What good would that do?” and just fought through. Then 6 x 200m @ 5:20/mi avg. These felt good 🙌🏼 I practiced on my form 🏃🏻‍♀️ Then 1 mile cool-down on the 🏖 😎 • • • • • •

  • •30:25•4.04•7:32/mi• ||splits: 8:07|7:34|7:18|7:09|| Between yesterday’s impromptu rest day and the amount I’ve spent sitting at a computer analyzing data and editing a manuscript... I NEEDED today’s morning run. I slept in til 6 and gave myself 45 minutes before work to get my run in. It’s taper week, schedule said 3 miles. Warm, humid morning so I figured I’d take it easy... legs had other plans: short miles, high intensity. The speed felt good. Felt like I was out running some of the crap that’s been weighing on me lately. Shedding some of those nagging anxieties. That is, after all, why I run. A run may not *actually* solve all my problems or eliminate my anxiety, but it at least lightens the load. And when I don’t feel like I’m suffocating under the weight of the world, and things feel a little less overwhelming, I handle whatever comes my way.

  • ⬆️. This here ⬆️ I’m approximately 6 weeks out from my Marathon. The last 5 weeks of training I’ve been hitting 100km plus a week of intense training. Recently I’ve been battling myself mentally. The weekly 800m repeat. This work out as much as I enjoy it I also despise it. It’s the last run of the week before my long run Saturday. By the time I get to this run I’m usually around 60 gruesome kms and my legs feel like led. I was hitting a lot of 2:53-55 per 800m but I knew I could be faster than 2:50. Today I decided to put my repeats a bit earlier in the week and we’ll check me out. No need for me to worry mentally anymore. With a bit healthier legs I can really work the paces. I’ll continue to wrap up my week (excluding long run Saturday) with Yassos but I had to remind myself what I got :) Happy training friends.

  • It's track Tuesday again! How did your workout go? We started way too late today! The sun went down during my cool down and OMG, all the sudden the temperature dropped. I had the babies all wrapped up, but you see what I am wearing... Let's hope my immune system stays strong. And yes: I got new HOKAS! Clifton 5, the new model. Let's hope they last through the marathon. This is what coach @longrunergy said to do (hopefully I read it right): 1mi warm up, 2x 2000m with 2 min rest, 45min cool down. There was a high school track coach on the field, with his big belly and coach jacket, telling a handful of young girls how to warm up for their session. I swear he was analyzing my form, grumpy old man. Of course I tried to look proper and all. But after 4 laps I stopped caring what he thinks. But I did run my first mile at sub7, lol. 1mi warm up: 10min/mi 2000m: 7:03, 7:13min/mi 5.2mi cool down: 9:06min/mi with the double stroller - thank you downhill! A hot shower helped to get warm again.... Summer is over! #trackworkout #tracktuesday #speedwork #runfaster #marathontraining #chicagomarathon #motherrunner #hshive #stingorbeestung #tailwindnutrition #staywarm #running #laufen #stuttgart #hokaone #conquerorslife
