I tend to bloat from dairy products and by the end of the day, after 5 meals and a gallon of water my tummy looks very different than it does when I first wake up! I call it my "happy belly"😂 . Today I want to talk about FOOD GUILT and "FALLING OFF TRACK" because I get so many questions about it!⬇️ After a big meal you should feel full, happy, satisfied, with tons of energy.. 🕺🏼sometimes we eat past that point.. and we feel full but can't move (think: Thanksgiving or a dinner with friends🤤..) but sometimes after a big meal people may have guilty feelings..feelings of regret..and are already thinking about "how to burn it off tomorrow in the gym.." ✋🏼STOP RIGHT THERE. That mindset of "all or nothing" will keep you from making progress. That's opening the door for a binge/restrict cycle... that involves restricting calories super low , then binging on tons of food bc ur body is starving, then super restricting calories + hours of cardio to "make up" for the binge, repeat repeat repeat🔁😩...... NO BUENO! 🙅🏼 . You don't have to feel guilty about FOOD. There are enough things to worry about in the world today🌍... don't let that be one of them.. There is no such thing at "Failing" when it comes to your diet... no one is perfect... and life is for LIVING... so when you overeat, just jump back on that horse right after that meal and try to keep making healthy decisions.. too many times I have people tell me "when I have a 'bad meal' or eat too much I give up" its not like that!! You'll never see progress that way! I eat more than I need to sometimes! I just move on!! I try to choose fruit over candy... I try to choose the delicious salad 85% of the time rather than a delicious burger..I try to do some cardio and I try to lift everyday.. and when I choose the candy or the burger or skip the workout I just move on! "Okay that was fun, now back to what I know will get me the results I want..." Its all about your MINDSET!! Work on changing the way you view your FITNESS🤔 and I promise you will see better results that

  • You don’t have to look strong to be strong. 💪🏽 In high school I always wanted to have the muscles that made people ask “how much can you lift?”... I’m the strongest I’ve ever been & yesterday watching a CrossFit competition a woman grouped me with her as “those of us that don’t workout.” 🤦🏼‍♀️ Last month at a drop-in I had a coach refer to me four times in five minutes as a “new athlete” in a condescending tone without once asking my background or history 🤯 So yeah, that’s apparently not my lot in life or body type to look the part. I work hard for my little baby muscles and I feed them properly & often. It’s just not my genetics. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Can’t beat myself up (or the people who said those things because that’s not appropriate adult behavior... teenage me probably would have punched one of them...) but what I can do is stay positive, keep working hard, and shock people when I lift heavier things than they expect & master those gymnastic elements I keep fighting to get my body to finally do properly. And the burpees. You are worthy. Worthy of love. Worthy of life. Worthy of happiness. Don’t let society tell you how to feel about your body, or dictate your self worth. I know at nearly 300 pounds I did just that. I let the world tell me how I should feel about myself, and if I could go back and tell that girl on the left how amazing she was regardless of her weight or the stigmas that go with being overweight- I would tell her to be happy. To live life. I would tell her not to be ashamed. So now I’m telling you. I actually had lost about 100lbs for this day and when originally shopping for the maid of honors dress was told not to buy a dress smaller and not treated nicely. The sales lady didnt even try to measure me since the store only carried up to 26 in store and her eyes got big when I told her i wore a size 34w on my wedding day. Danny ended up measuring me with a tape measure at home thankfully & the lady also told me not to buy smaller as most people didnt actually lose the weight they planned. I ended up buying a 28W instead of the 32 that they suggested AND HAD TO SWITCH TO A 26 SINCE I LOST SO MUCH! !Never let someone tell you what youre capable of or make you feel less due to your size. Instead use it as fuel to your fire & show them what youre made of! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lets stick to our resolutions and get paid to get lean in 2018! While I found joy in a lot of things, I remember feeling uncomfortable that day because I felt “fat” and the only reason I probably kept this pic was because of the special occasion it was taken on. Before I started working out consistently in 2015, most unflattering pictures of me were promptly disposed of. I am definitely not my leanest now, but I feel like there’s a pretty good balance in my life, and I’ve come to realize that balance matters more to me than the “perfect” figure. I was 485lbs, 25 years old, knew nothing about dieting, cooking, or exercise, and I was fedup with the life that I was living. I couldn't do many things due to my weight such as riding a rollercoaster, fitting in booths, walking a block, fitting in movie theater seats, climbing stairs, shopping at most stores for cute clothes, and even putting on my shoes or fitting in my car comfortably was a struggle. The first month I didnt eat out, have any cheat meals, drink my calories, and started working out on the elliptical just 5x a week for 30 minutes. I started counting calories with myfitnesspal and learning how to take the foods I loved and make healthy versions. I started meal prepping and keeping healthy snacks in my desk at work. I started setting goals and being prepared daily to succeed. I was willing to learn every single day and I knew I had to start somewhere. I realized it was a lifestyle change, not a diet. I focused on small changes daily and they added up to big results. This will also limit momentum. 4◻️Using the cables also helps keep tension on the muscle throughout the movement and help keep a higher mind muscle connection than dumbbells. 5◻️Use high reps. 15-20 for 3-5 sets. . .
